Dell built the Dimension C521 around the AMD Athlon 64 X2 64-bit processor @ 2.2GHz. The system ships with Windows Vista Home Operating System, and up to 4.0GB of DDR2 RAM, DVD-ROM drive, wired NIC, and a generous sized SATA hard drive. I am the editor of my high school's newspaper and yearbook and the school purchased these computers for all the computer rooms. We've had a few dells over the years, and were not thoroughly impressed with most of them; I am a bigger fan of the HP brand. However, prices for Dell PCs came down significantly, and I thought I'd give them a try again. I have not been disappointed. The graphics are good, and the computer is responsive. The screen is large enough to work with two windows/documents simultaneously, but at some point you might want to upgrade to a 22", if you watch to really enjoy your DVD movies.
