When I moved to a new department at work, I was excited to learn that I would get a brand new computer.  The admin department for our School (The Coast & Environment) at LSU primarily uses Dell computers.  I had used a Dell years ago and had good service from it.  I was all set (or so I thought).

Dell Dimension 9200

My new computer was ordered and arrived in time for my transition to my new office downstairs.  The IT guy came to hook it up as soon as my new desk arrived.  Everything looked nice and I was excited to have all "new" stuff in my office.

My computer was set up and I booted it...

Dimension 9200 has been pretty good. It has SATA hard drives which have visible difference in copy-paste files. However, while booting up the SATA controller takes some time to load. Once controller bios is loaded, the rest of the boot process is a snap. I have stopped restarting my computer and am just putting it in stand by when I don't need it. It is pretty good with games. I have 256 MB NVidia 7900 GS which has amazing detail for games. Especially the rain in NFS Most wanted was awesome.

I luv my computer!  I had it for 2 years now and I have had NO MAJOR problems, viruses, etc.  This is the BEST computer I have ever bought and I have no regrets whatsoever! I am using Windows Vista and it took awhile to get used to it but I think it's great too!

Dell is great equipment they also allow you to tell you what you want and build it. Have had absolutely no trouble with my Dell. Great warranties and tech support if necessary.
