My Dell Dimension 2400 is my third computer and has made me a confirmed Dell fan. The computer was relatively inexpensive, top of the line the year I bought it (I've had it for a few years now) and has been utterly reliable.
This computer came with XP installed on it and had all the usual software tha tyou get when you buy a Dell. It has a 2GB Pentium processor, came with 256MB RAM, good video and audio, came with a 17" monitor (not flat panel) and 2 speakers. All for under $500. It has never once crashed on me. It has been completely reliable and steady. The only upgrade I've done has been to put in 2 GB of RAM. I would like to upgrade the video card but the ones available that would fit this computer have gotten some pretty bad reviews, so I think I'm staying with the chip it came with.
Overall this has been, and continues to be a great value. When I'm ready to get another computer, and that won't be for a couple more years, it will most likely be another Dell. I've had nothing but good experiences with them and their products. They stand behind what they make and have even replaced software that came with it (that I lost / misplaced) free of charge AFTER my warranty expired. Really can't complain about that.
