I was recently issued a new Dell Latitude D620 laptop computer at work, which I use at my desk and on the road. When I'm in the office (which is almost all the time), I press the Latitude D620 into a Dell D-Dock Advanced Port Replicator. The D-Dock is a docking station for the laptop, giving the computer more ports that increase its versatility. — The D-Dock Advanced Port Replicator has the part number of PR01X, and it sells on Dell's Web site for around $166. Bottom-Line: Slide it in, hook it up to monitor, network, keyboard, mouse, and so much more. — My Dell Latitude D-820 serves double duty: it's my second desktop and it my portable computers I lug home every night. While the 15 inch TFT Active matrix screen on the D-820 is fine to view for a couple of hours, eye strain might set in if I had to view the screen for eight. This shows the big connector that mates to the laptop. The squarish button on the upper right releases the laptop from the docking station.
Here are the connectors on the back panel. This unit supports PS/2 style mice and keyboards, although I have USB versions.
An additional USB port is on the side. Above it looks like a USB port but that's actually a power connector. There's also a headphone jack.
