At the current moment, I use two Dell machines.  A two-three year old Dell Dimension E310 for personal and home use and a newer laptop, the Vostro 1500 that I run my photography business out of.  Both machines are some of the best computers I've used in my long history with Apple and PC… read full review »

My currant Dell is my fourth and may very well be my last. Anything that you would think could go wrong with a computer has on this one. Virtually every component has had to be replaced at least once. Sure, they cost less now then when I bought I first one. That sure shows in their present quality.… read full review »

I have a 4 yr. old autistic daughter who is OBSESSED with computers, video screens, etc.  Now that she's in school, she's been using the Starfall.com website quite a bit, and she would literally steal my laptop out from under me (while I was using it!!) and try to play.  I got sick of fighting for my own laptop, so I decided that I'd look for an inexpensive laptop that could hold up to her somewhat rough style of use. — Since it was around Thanksgiving time, I decided to watch the bfads.net website to see who might have a bargain laptop available on Black Friday. … read full review »

my husband surprised me last summer with a new computer.  He bought me a dell inspiron.  I have been very happy with this.  My old computer was ready for the graveyard so it was a pleasant surprise when i got a new one.  And now i have dsl so it makes me getting on line a lot faster and a lot happier.  I would recommend Dell to all my friends &… read full review »

Dell and AMD On August 17, 2006, a Dell press-release stated that starting in September 2006, Dell Dimension desktop computers would have AMD processors and that later in the year Dell would release a two-socket, quad-processor server using AMD Opteron chips, moving away from using Dell's traditional Intel processors. — CNet's News.com on August 17, 2006 cited Dell's CEO Kevin Rollins as attributing the move to AMD processors to cost-advantage and to AMD technology. AMD's senior VP in commercial business, Marty Seyer, stated: "Dell's wider embrace of AMD processor-based offerings is a… read full review »

We bought a laptop from Dell, expecting it to be one of the best PC purchases we'd ever made. That quickly turned out to be completely the opposite. Since we paid top dollar for a so-called quality laptop from a so-called quality company, we declined to purchase the extended warranty. No kidding .. this laptop crapped out during the 3rd month. First the battery gave us issues. It will not maintain a charge. The only way to use this laptop is to keep it plugged in. It won't run for more than maybe 30 minutes otherwise. This literally became an issue within the 3rd month of ownership.… read full review »

I have to admit that at first glance it seemed like a great deal.  Order the computer with a free printer, get a rebate, and pay monthly.  Yeah right!  One month after I received my Dell I started having problems.  The computer came with old software for my graphics card, so I went online to the manufacturer and got the update for it.  The computer would not let me install the update -- I repeatedly received the message that any updates had to come directly from Dell.  It took them months to get the new update and then, it still wouldn't work with the… read full review »

I have a Dell Dimension 2350 and I have never liked it.  I only bought it because of the price and I thought that Dell had a good name. — Well, I should have paid attention to when my one year was up....it is my fault that I did not report my computer "going on the blink" when I suspected it.  It freezes up and it takes forever for it to start.  There is a blue screen that comes up and I have to restart my computer, losing all information.  The programs don't always work like they should or else my computer loses all memory of the program being installed and I have… read full review »

I received Dell's Inspiron 1520 for my birthday in November 2007. The selling feature was that it was offered in colors.  Mine is pink and I love it.  It doesn't shout out "corporate office" but it does everything that I need it for - sharing pictures and videos, internet surfing and email.  Downloading my pictures from my digital camera is simply a matter of popping in my SD card into a convienient slot on the side.  It is right next to the CD drive.    Watching videos is clear and efficient.  — One area that is a "con"… read full review »

My husband bought this computer for me on my birthday November 2007.  The price was incredible, I also got a 20 inch monitor with it and belive me, I love it to pieces.  Instead of having a clunky old box on the floor gathering dust, I have a small box on my desk right next to my monitor and it all fits in a little area.  Speakers right next to it, they are small enough to it there and loud enough to really crank them up.  I am a grandmother of 13 and my grandkids have all made me appreciate good music of any age bracket, I love the oldies and rap, very flexible with… read full review »

I use my computer mainly for email, games, and hobbies.  I do, however, use a lot of graphics programs as I work as a freelance graphic artist.  I download and scan a lot of pictures.  I love my Dell Latitude D830.  It is reliable, holds a charge for a long time, has a battery life indicator and is a great size to work with on my lap.  It gets warm after a while but never so hot that I can't use it.  We have other laptops in the family;  a Toshiba that had very little memory and an Averatec that gets so hot it shuts off several times a day.  We… read full review »

We have just purchased our second Dell computer for our daughter for Christmas. We have found them to be dependable and reliable. They really meet our needs. Our first dell was purchased almost 2 years ago and has required no service or interventions.  The second will be replacing an over 10 year old gateway that doesn't even have a flashdrive.  My husband teachs at a local college and with 4 children we really need a product that we can count on. There is never any extra time to worry about breakdowns.  We really have appreciated the product The next adventure will be the… read full review »

We have been using the Dell desktop computer for several years now and we are impressed with the quality and user friendlyness of the product. The Windows programs are great and we use them a lot too. I like the way the computer responds to different users and my granddaughter uses it almost as much and as easily as my recent college graduate daughter does. It produces terrific printed materials and generates many useful items. It is easy to use in most instances and any problems we have encountered have been due to user errors. Having had another brand of computer before, I appreciate the… read full review »
