July 31, 2009 - I am editing my previous more positive review of this site due to several things that have occurred since I wrote the review. Please take note that I am not saying DealSucker.com is a BAD or fraudulent site. I just don't like the way they conduct themselves.
Quick View: DealSucker.com is a cash back and coupon/promo code site that is unique because it specializes in "Deal of the Day" websites such as I Have to Have That, Daily Steals, Losing Our Pants, The Daily Steal, Steep and Cheap, and Red Tag Crazy, all of which have one or two deals at a time. They also have traditional websites that you can get cash back from if you shop through their site. They have coupon codes, forums, and a personalized home page for you to watch all the steals and deals and grab them as they come up. Note: Red Tag Crazy has now been removed from their cash back program (with no warning) although you can still follow the sales through their site.
About DealSucker.com
This site works much like all the other cash back sites out there. You sign up, then log on and go to the store's link that you want to shop at, click through the site and it tracks your purchases and it supposedly gives you a percentage of your order cost back.
What differentiates this cash back site is that they have a load of deal of the day type sites that no one else does for cash back. Your home page can be personalized by you to show you only the deal of the day sites that you want to see and you can set the page to auto refresh so you can watch to see when the sites change their deals. There are so many one deal at a time sites out that I never heard of! Now I watch several and grab the deals if they look to be what I want. I get cash back on my purchases at DealSucker.com which is always a nice extra. I have to say though, that I have used the site a number of times to make purchases on deal of the day items and, as yet, have not been credited for the purchases. I need to file some reports so they can look into that. I have been credited for some of my purchases though so I do know the site is actively attempting to track and credit.
The site also has traditional stores listed that you can get cash back from if you shop through them but I would definitely go to other, more traditional cash back sites for regular shopping. DealSucker.com has fairly low cash back and I am still waiting for the one traditional order I made using the site to be credited. It's been a long time and I see nothing showing up. I will have to file a report so that the site can check into it. I certainly hope that they honor the cash back promise. I won't use the site for cash back again though.
On special deals, even those like Buy.com's and Ebay's Deals of the Day, DealSucker.com is one of the only places to get cash back on already low priced items so it can't hurt to go through them and get a few pennies back.
They also have a load of coupon and promo codes that you can use on many shopping websites, forums for members to post deals and finds as well as codes, and a "Side Deal" area where they list things that are great prices at all kinds of sites. You won't get cash back but they list things on Amazon.com (where no one gives cash back) and other sites that don't participate in cash back programs. They also have short user written reviews on a load of deal of the day and bargain websites with star ratings in a number of areas so you can check those before you decide whether to "grab a deal" from one of the sites listed.
You can refer friends or post your referral link and you will get a percentage of any order made from anyone who uses your link to shop through the site. If they register and become a member of the site, you will get 10% of the total amount of their cash back (They get their full cash back, you get 10% of the amount they get.) forever! However, I referred a friend with my link and got a nasty letter telling me to immediately remove my link. I didn't post it. I gave my link to someone in a chat room. I questioned what I did wrong and was given a huge run around. They were nasty and not at all informative. I still honestly don't know what I did wrong. I don't like their tone in emails and certainly don't find them to be friendly or even very personal.
When your cash back adds up to $10.00 or more, you are paid through Paypal or MPayy automatically. Your balance will carry over if it is below $10.00 until the next month or whenever you reach the $10.00 threshold. I have about $9.00 built up but they suddenly canceled the cash back program for Red Tag Crazy where I always use the site. I f they don't credit me with my other purchases made through them, they will have my $9.00 since I don't go through them for any other sites now. I think they should at least give those who used them for RTC exclusively whatever cash back they built up regardless of the amount. Isn't that only fair since they were given no warning that the program was going to just stop immediately?
My Viewpoint
I'm fairly new to DealSucker.com and I do enjoy seeing all the DOD sites' deals in real time. I like the site more for the info, the coupon codes, and the side deals than I do for the actual cash back. I go to sites that I know will credit me and will honor my referrals for that.
I use the site for tracking deals in real time, snagging codes and other promo info, and now and then, going to a deal of the day site and grabbing the deal. This site is unique and, for those who like deals and steals, is a great way to see all the many, many one deal at a time bargains going on in real time. As I said, for actual cash back from regular stores, I don't recommend DealSucker.com. Choose your cash back site wisely. I give this site 3 stars for being unique and useful. I do NOT advise signing up for cash back because they are not at all customer friendly and they end programs without warning. Use the site as a reference only. As a cash back site, they rate 2 stars AT BEST.
