Dead and Gone —

Well, Charlene Harris has done it again.  In the latest of her Sookie Stackhouse stories, she bring the shape shifters out of the closet.  This mostly affects Sam, her long time boss, who is a shape shifter and usually shifts into a lovable pooch.  Sookie, who has ESP powers already, is bound to the head of the vampires, a friend to the local werewolf pack and has a brother who is a werepanther.  All goes well when the shape shifters come out of the closet -- at first.  The a girl who Sookie is acquainted with winds up dead in the parking lot at the bar where she works.  Sookie of course,  wants to find out who did this because the girl happens to be a were panther.  Little does Sookie know that there is a bigger threat then this murder.  Other supernatural creatures, who are much much older then the vampires and the others, are planing to make war.  As usual, Sookie winds up right smack dab in the middle of all the action.   This book, like the rest of the series is a fast read, but well worth it. Charlene Harris does it again. I can't wait for her next book!
