Great Drill

The DeWalt XRP drills are built tough. The quality  will last years. My drill has lasted me yea rs and i recently purchased another for  a relative. The battery life is outstanding with the XRP batteries. The drill comes with torque control, and variable speeds with variabl e trigger spee d as well. The q uality is outstanding. the batteries last a very long time before needing replaced as does the drill. The drills can be a little pricey but are well worth the extra money. They will outlast and out-drill other "value" drills. I  use the drill  for about everything from fine cabinetry to cutting holes in OSB. The drill  is a bit on the heavy side, but not  enough to be an issue.I would recommend this drill to  anyone doing serious/ longer  construction of any sort. I love the DeWalt  quality and cannot imagine buting any  other drill in my entire life, and i will probable never  have  to.

The DeWalt XRP drills are built for serious contractors or do-it-yourselfers. My drill has lasted me over 3 years and i recently purchased another for hired help. I bought a new set of cordless powertools over the summer to fill in some holes in my toolbox and upgrade some other tools.  I decided to go with the Dewalt tools, because they had a wide range of options and have a generally good fan base.  I went with the XRP series in large part, because it has a more powerful battery system than some of the other options out there.  It uses 18 volt batteries, which give it a little more kick, so to speak.  As I said earlier, Dewalt also has a full line of tools that can use the same battery packs (fuller than some other companies that also make good products).  I have run the drill through several projects and have yet to see it slow down (other than when it needs a new battery.  I have used it for decking, drilling anchor holes into concrete, and other basic drilling tasks.  I was very impressed with its performance when using the hammer drill option to drill into cement.  I thought it would struggle a bit, given it is a cordless . . . but it performed flawlessly.  There are many options for cordless drills, but nothing will be much better than the Dewalt XRP.

This drill does many jobs!

I have owned this dewalt XRP 18v drill/hammerdrill for 5 years now and it is just as effective now as it was the very first day I took it out the box. I got it in the set with the cordless drill, circular saw, sawzall and snake light but the drill has most absolutely definetly got the most use. The hammer drill feature on this drill is great. It makes drilling through concrete, brick, block, stone or any other hard surface simple.   The first 3 years I had this drill it was used on a job site for residential, commercial and industrial carpentry and it was put to the test for sure. It was used to attach buckets and hangers to concrete block walls as well as drilling into 6" concrete slab floors. Then it was used to drive the tap cons into them holes. It was also used to drill through wood with paddle bits many times times a day and perhaps a thousand times in the 3 years I used it on the site. Needless to say this drill has had its fair share of work the past 5 years rather it be on a job or at mt house and it still works great! I would highly recommend this drill to anybody about to purchase one. It is durable, light weight, and can perform a number of different jobs!

When i purchased my Dewalt cordless drill/driver I felt that I did an ample amount of research on all the different drills on the market. The drill I had currently owned was a Makita i cant say that it let me down other than battery lif and I was considering another larger Makita. I started my research with trade magazines and different research websites. They all gave the good bad and the ugly on all brands but what I didn't find was the ugly on the Dewalt when it came to all the important facts. After talking to several people that had used several different brands of drills either to earn a living or for the home owner I found that anyone who had owned or used the Dewalt 18v xrp was impressed with the performance. All reports either personal or by third pary touted the Dewalts power and performance and that was good enough for me. However the Dewalt was a little more expensive than some other 18v driver drills on the market it offered the hammer drill which is nice to have just in case you need it. The 18v XRP batteries give what I feel is one of the best run times of all drills and the batteries last forever. I have worked my XRP very hard and have yet to replace a battery. The only downside I found with a drill like this is the weight, it's a little heavy but now you can get an 18v xrp like I have with lithiun batteries which cuts down on the weight problem and still gives a great run time.
