Given the price of the previous model, I felt I didn't get my money's worth. I did like that it would grind the beans and brewed the perfect shot. I'm just not certain this ended up being cheaper than stopping by the local coffee shop. It frothed the milk nice too.

I really had my doubts when my husband said he wanted to buy a Delonghi Magnifica Super Automatic ESAM 3300. He has a tendency to buy expensive things that suck and collect dust, but was convinced after talking to coffee-snob friends that he HAD to have this. So I saved up and got it for my husband's birthday and we have surprisingly used it every single day since. This machine makes a great cup of coffee and is versatile -- we make lattes, cappuccinos, and all kinds of other coffee drinks. The flavor is fantastic - better than any other coffee or espresso machine I have tried. It's not bitter at all. It is surprisingly easy to use and clean. I love the grinder in the machine and that it cleans itself. Once you know what settings you like, you just press a button and you're good to go. We have more than gotten our money's worth, given the cost of coffee at local places like Starbucks. I highly recommend you check this out -- very much worth the price because of it's ease and the great coffee it makes.

We purchased our DeLonghi Magnifica Super Automatic Machine ESAM3300 almost four years ago at a Starbucks retail store. At first we were reluctant due to the high price, but quickly realized that this machine was quite possibly one our best kitchen investments we had ever made. Having lived in Portland, Oregon where we could walk to nine different coffee shops from our house, we were accustomed to drinking great coffee. When we moved back to our current east coast city, we have yet to find a coffee shop that makes cofffee as good as the coffee we make from our own kitchen! The machine makes espresso either one or two shots, or an americano, which is basically three shots. It has a milk steamer if you want to make cappucinos or lattes, or you can use the same wand to simply add hot water to your espresso. Cleaning the machine can be a bit of a chore, but it is worthwhile, since it makes such good coffee. The machine tells you when it needs to be descaled and gives you directions on any maintenance is needed. We love our machine, and have been thrilled with the good coffee it makes. DeLonghi has great customer service too, as we have required a replacement knob that we broke off, they were super helpful and gave us exactly what was needed. If this machine ever dies on us, I am not sure what we would do, as we can't go back to a regular coffee maker again.

I know out of my own experience that you don't need expensive coffee-maker to make good coffee. On the other hand, expensive and beautiful machine can add some pleasure to mirthless mornings. A normal coffee-maker user rarely needs a manual. But when you use automatic machine, the manual is necessary even to an experienced user. Luckily the manual that comes with DeLonghi ESAM3300 is plain and good. You can make a cup or two easily when you have read and understood the manual. But it takes time to find your own favorite beverage, because there are differences between beans. I have heard that the use of automatic coffee machine can remain exiguous after first zeal. Many think that coffee machine takes too much space in the kitchen and they go back to normal coffee-maker. But I think that I won't use my old coffee-maker anymore. DeLonghi ESAM3300 is quite compact and polished machine. Using is easy and in my opinion this is a great machine for small working communities. And generally for all coffee lovers.

We've had the DeLonghi Magnifica for 2 1/2 years and have loved every minute of it. The espresso machine is a fully-automatic model that does everything but froth its own milk. With one touch of a button (presuming your machine has water and beans), you can have a fresh espresso in under two minutes. A simple priming function gets it ready to froth milk, soymilk, eggnog, etc. Every few months it requires a descaling treatment that takes a bit of time, but is very easy to accomplish. It's recommended that you also vacuum loose grounds out of the grinding area at the same time. As you are making espresso, you'll find that it can do about 7-9 'shots' before you need to empty the grounds container. The machine has few downsides--I would recommend that they create a somewhat larger water container so that you have to refill less often and a somewhat larger bean repository on the top, so that you refill the beans less frequently. Other than that, the machine is a wonderful, luxurious addition to the kitchen that makes a tasty shot of espresso with a nice crema on top!
