I liked the size and shape of this fryer better for cooking fried chicken, It seems like we can fit more in with out having to stack them so much. We use the fryer about every other week to make fried chicken, chicken nuggets, french fries or pre-made frozen fried foods. It heats up pretty quickly, but you do need to remember to let it reheat after each batch. The controls are a little confusing, but now that we have been using it for 6 months, I think both my husband and myself have it all figured out. It is rather easy to clean since the heating element can be removed and the tub that holds the oil can come out of the stand so you can pour out the oil. The basket come out and I use a small brush to clean it. The only downside to that is the way the mesh pattern is on the basket. sometimes the bristles get stuck and I have to watch to make sure I don't accidentally pull any out of the brush and leave them attached to the basket. I don't think we want melted plastic on our food. I like that since it is rectangular it is easier to store and takes up less space than a round frying machine would. I also think the design is decent enough looking to leave it on the counter if you wanted to.
