An overwhelming majority of reviewers consider Dawn Dishwashing Liquid to be "the cutting edge as far as dishwashing liquid is concerned!" Dawn is considered to be a favorite of many because of the great scent varieties, not to mention because it works really great! This dishwashing soap comes to a great lather, cuts through the stains really well, and leaves the dishes shiny, not to mention "it doesn't dry your hands or leave a sticky residue." It goes beyond cleaning dishes as well, as some use it on "really greasy laundry" as well as washing vehicles and cleaning jewelry. Reviewers have "found others just do not stand up to Dawn."

Most HelpfulI probably date myself by admitting that I remember when everyone washed dishes with powdered detergent. It was an exciting event in 1949 when "Joy", the first liquid detergent made its debut. That's probably the closest I ever came to enjoying doing the dishes when I was a little girl and I never...

Most HelpfulMy mother never used Dawn dishsoap when I was growing up, but when I met my husband, that's the only thing he ever bought. Well, for once he knew what he was talking about! Dawn Dishsoap is great for cleaning dishes and removing greasy buildup. It lathers up really nice, so you don't have to use a ton of it to get the dishes clean. But it has other uses too!
1. Did you know that you can use Dawn Dishsoap to clean your jewelry too? It really works.
2. It's also what I use to clean my Precious Moments figurines, because it's gentle and really gets buildup off of them from being displayed. ...
review »Growing up before Dawn came out, my mother only purchased Palmolive dish soap. ( Remember the lady soaking her fingers in the bowl of green Palmolive.) At the time that was the dish soap of the times. Then they came out with Dawn, then my mother switched to that. We had a dishwasher, but used Dawn if there were only a few dishes. Dawn was mainly used for greasy pots, pans and casseroles with stuck burnt on food. It only took a drop of dawn and it cut through the grease. Remember the commercial for Dawn where the wife did all of the dishes, even the pots and pans. Then the husbands...
review »This is the only dishwashing liquid I'll use. It easily removes grease and grime, and makes dishwashing quick and easy, so I have more time to focus on other things, like my family! This is the soap I use for dishes, really greasy laundry, spills, and even washing our family vehicles. It rinses easily, and doesn't leave that soapy smell on my dishes. The microbeads it contains really seem to help dissolve the food and grime, so I don't need to spend nearly as long scrubbing as I normally would.
There is no dishwasher in this house unless you count the one with brown hair, blue eyes, and big feet. Hand washing and drying dishes is soothing for me, and it helps me relieve nervous energy and appeases my obsessive-compulsive cleanliness. Unfortunately, I do not get that from other chores which is obvious considering the dust on my computer. Dawn dishwashing liquid is effective, and it does not leave slick residue behind. It is original scent which is light. I appreciate that because I am not a fan of strong smells. No dishpan hands either! It is almost a thing of beauty to squirt the liquid...
review »Growing up in a large family without an automatic dishwasher, I was taught at an early age how to wash dishes. My main frustration was with the dishwashing soap! No matter how much I used, it never seemed to suds up enough or last long enough to do pots and pans! I tried all of the brands yet was never satisfied until Dawn came along. With Dawn just a little squirt lasts a long way. No more changing the water before the dishes are done. Even at Thanksgiving with extra plates, pots and pans, the grease, grim, and whatever washes away with ease, leaving the dishes sparkling clean. I...
