Growing up before Dawn came out, my mother only purchased Palmolive dish soap. ( Remember the lady soaking her fingers in the bowl of green Palmolive.) At the time that was the dish soap of the times. Then they came out with Dawn, then my mother switched to that. We had a dishwasher, but used Dawn if there were only a few dishes. Dawn was mainly used for greasy pots, pans and casseroles with stuck burnt on food. It only took a drop of dawn and it cut through the grease. Remember the commercial for Dawn where the wife did all of the dishes, even the pots and pans. Then the husbands finds a glass- glass? The wife washes it in the same water and it come out streak clean with no grease marks. Once I left home and had a place of my home I admit I tried cheaper brands. What a waist, they did not make suds or lather. It was like using nothing at all in the water. So I would keep adding more, to no avail the dished always felt dirty, grimy, and greasy. I then realized Dawn was the only dish soap for me. Then other companies came out with a knock off a Dawn. It was cheaper-not by much. Though I tried it. What a joke. It was totally generic. The only soap used in my home is Dawn. Dawn goes a long way. If I am out of laundry soap and need to wash a load of clothes I will use Dawn dish soap. It does not take more then a squirt of two to get the washer full of suds and bubbles. I joke to my mom, that doing laundry with Dawn dish soap is cheaper because it only takes a squirt to make lots and lots of bubbles. The clothes come out clean and fresh. Growing up when Dawn first came out. We were out of Dish washer detergent. It was my turn to load the dishwasher. No one was home, so I figured why not use Dawn Dish Soap. We all know how Dawn makes bubbles and suds in the sink. Well imagine what it does in a dishwasher. Litterally there were suds and bubbles shooting out of the dishwasher onto the floor. I walked into the kitchen and saw the floor full of soap and it was still pouring out. Whenever I think of that day and the mess I had cleaning up. I think of the Brady Bunch episode when one of the kids decides to help out with laundry. They used to much soap and suds were filling up the laundry room and coming under the door into the kitchen. I have a teenage daughter, my daughter is one of those teenagers when going through puberty suffers from greasy hair. I have looked high and low, they no longer make a shampoo for greasy hair. So I have her use Dawn. It cuts right through the grease in her hair. She only has to wash it once, verses two or three times using regular shampoo. I use Dawn to to clean my china and crystal. I use it so scrub my kitchen floor. I sometime am not paying attention and put to much Dawn in the water and create a tremendous amount of subs. More then needed for the kitchen floor. Dawn is the only soap I use when washing my car. It makes the job a lot easier. In my house hold dawn gets a thumbs up and a five start rating. Nothing beats Dawn, and dawn is non replaceable. Meaning I believe there will never be a product out there, that can do a better job. One more tip. I suffer from oily skin on certain parts of my face. When I say oily, I mean "oily" especially my nose. I use a small amount of dawn on a wash clothes to cut through the oil on and around my nose. It gives me a clean fresh feeling.
