Dannon Light & Fit Crave Control Yogurt —

Once again, I am on a quest to eat healthier, so while I was at the grocery store, I was checking out the yogurt's and I saw a different kind of yogurt that peaked my interest.  It was Dannon Light & Fit Crave Control Yogurt. They sell this in packs of four 4 oz. containers for around $2.99.  I thought was a little pricey but if it was healthy, maybe it was worth it.  It wasn't.

The Facts

  • 1/3 fewer calories than regular lowfat yogurt
  • 60% less sugar than regular lowfat yogurt
  • 0% fat, 0% added sugar, 70 calories
  • Crave control with protein fiber plus
  • Contains milk and wheat

My Experience

This particular yogurt is mixed with cereal and supposedly, the protein and fiber that it contains will help control hunger.  I purchased the vanilla and cereal flavor and I so wish I hadn't.  Blech!

When I first opened this yogurt, my first impression was that it looked a bit more watery than normal yogurt for some reason.  There were little flakes of what I think was a combination of wheat and oats.  I guess that would be the cereal part.  After stirring the yogurt, the consistency got a tiny bit thicker but was still a bit on the watery side.  I took a spoonful and I have to tell you all that it was one of the most awful things I have ever tasted.  It had such a bitter taste that I literally couldn't eat it.  It was probably because the yogurt doesn't contain any sugar.  There is a very small amount of the artificial sweetener, Splenda, that is supposed to take that bitter edge off but it doesn't do the job.

My Final Thoughts

Dannon Light & Fit Crave Control Yogurt in my opinion is overpriced for the size and number of containers you get, tastes awful, and is not a product that I would recommend.  They do sell other flavors that I have not tried so I can't give my opinion of those but the Vanilla & Cereal flavored one, is awful.  I really have to go with a 1 star rating on this yogurt. I ended up throwing out 3 and 3/4 of the 4 cups of yogurt I purchased.

I do not believe any of these yogurt claims lately...."keeps you regular", "controls cravings", "boosts your immune system"....blah blah blah....I think it is all just ploys to get you to buy their yogurt.

Haha! You could tell I hated it huh? It was really awful! The others might be better but I am not willing to even try them at this point!
