I bought this work-out DVD when I graduated high school and no longer had dance practice three times a week.  I have been a fan of the show since its first season, so I was quite excited to try this work-out, not to mention that I could learn some ballroom dancing steps with no partner necessary.  It does have great work-outs on it, and I do love the warm-up and cool-down exercises.  The work-outs do get you sweating, and as an added bonus, they are FUN!  I immediately felt a muscle burn in my thighs after the beginning after the "Paso Doble" routine, and the "Jive" routine (meant to act as an aerobic exercise) can get your heart pumping if you dance full-out.  I wouldn't say this is a replacement for the gym, but rather a little something extra.  If you don't have time or money to go to a gym though, you can expect results in toning and weight loss if you stick to this as your daily fitness (though that may get a little repetitive and boring).

I really love to collect workout DVD's because I like to do new things all the time.  So when a whole slew of workout DVD's came out in January I bought several of them.  One of the ones I bought was the Dance You Ass Of Work Out.  I love to dance and I love dance workouts so I thought this one would be fun to do.

The workout was created because of the Oxygen series that has the same name and is taught by some of the same instructors that taught the contestants their dances.  The choreographer from the show Lisa teaches one segment and the other two segments are taught by Hillary and Jesus.

The three different segments are Disco, Latin, and Hip Hop.  The Disco section is fairly easy each step is taught thoroughly before you move on to the next.  So you know the routines fairly well after just a couple of times doing the workout, same with the Latin section.  The Hip Hop section is a little trickier but after a few times you should have that down too.

For me personally this work out was really simple, but I was once a dance so don't judge it by me.  I did find however that I didn't feel stressed nor did my heart even beat all that hard while I was doing the work out until the hip hop section, then I felt my heart beat pick up a little more.  So if you have already been working out for a while you may find that this work out is not very challenging for you.  However, if you like to dance and you are a beginner or you have not worked out for a while this is a good place to start.  It is well instructed and the moves are fun, and as I said before you are taught them really well, and it won't over tax your body.  So this is a very good beginner workout.  It's also a fun work out even if you have been exercising for a while, or if you are having a lazy day and just want to do an easy workout.

The entire DVD is 46 minutes long, most of that was workout time, so it is a nice length and will keep your heart rate up for enough time to burn some fat.

So if you are looking to start working out and love to dance The Dance Your Ass Off Work Out is a great place to start.  The instructors will teach you some moves that you can use in other dance type workouts as well and you will know them well after doing the DVD just a few times so get up off the couch and get moving it's not so hard.

Dancing With The Stars Cardio Dance Workout

By

Comments about Dancing With the Stars Cardio Dance Workout:

I purchased this workout dvd because I enjoy dancing. I like to incorporate dance style workout routine into my daily fitness schedule. I was really excited when I purchased this particular workout dvd because some of the cast members from Dancing With The Stars are the dance instructors.

The dance instructors are Ashly Costa, Kym Johnson and Makim Chmerkovsy. There are a total of 5 dance routines each being 10 minutes long. The five dance routines consist of: the paso doble, the cha cha, the jive, the samba and the dance improvisation.

Each dance instructor has one solo workout routine that they execute and the other two workout routines are shown by all three dance instructors. I personally could not keep up with the dance moves because the instructors dance way too fast.

I made several attempts of trying to keep up with the fast pace of this workout dvd but gave up.

Fun and easy to follow workout that will make you sweat puddles

Comments about Dancing With the Stars Cardio Dance Workout:

I HATE to workout! I dislike any kind of exercise with a passion! I also cannot dance well at all! However, the Dancing with the Stars Cardio workout is wonderful! It is easy to follow, fun to do, and gives you great results. I do this workout with my sister-in-law and when we are finished, we are soaking wet with sweat. We love all of the dances on this DVD and also have another one of the Dancing with the Stars Dance Workout DVDS and like it as well. The music is upbeat and the instructors keep you motivated to finish the workout. The steps are tricky at first, but get easy with just a few times completing the workout. I saw a trimmer waist after just a few weeks of doing this workout 3-4 times a week. I also have been more confident in dancing at parties by learning some of the basic steps with this workout DVD. The dances are so fun to do that you will forget that you are working out!

I love the 'fun' that the pros have showing you the moves!

Comments about Dancing With the Stars Cardio Dance Workout:

I love Dancing with the Stars, so I thought I'd really enjoy giving this DVD a try. It is definitely an excellent workout. The instructors/professional dancers appear to be having a lot of fun teaching you how to do the moves, but my only complaint is, sometimes they go through it so fast that it is difficult to keep up when you're first starting out. I guess the best way to describe it is, there is an assumption that you already know what most of these moves are prior to trying it out, so I have found myself stopping it and going over steps repeatedly until I understand what they are doing. Once you catch on though, it's a lot of fun and you feel the results pretty quickly. I also like it because it's something different from the typical cardio exercise DVD's out there, so you can add some variety and fun to your exercise routine. If you're a man, you'll love watching Kym, and if your'e a woman, Maxx is fun and easy on the eyes to be sure!

An alright video for once a week!

Comments about Dancing With the Stars Cardio Dance Workout:

I don't think this review is in the right section, but anyways...I just purchased this Dancing with the Stars Dance Cardio workout video at a local HEB. The first couple of times I did the video, I loved it. However, after a about two weeks or so, it gets very repetitive. Also, the dancers don't seem like they really planned out what they were doing. However, the dances are fun and if you do them correctly, I do believe it can be effective.

A good thing abou the video is that you can choose to play all the dances or just choose one or two. You can also choose to have the trainers instruction or no instruction, which is great because they get annoying after hearing them so much.

Nevertheless, this video isn't TOO intensive at all. I would actually say it's pretty moderate and good for people who can't do much but like to dance. I would not suggest this DVD for people who want a sweat-intensive workout. I would not suggest this video for people hoping to do it more than once a week!

the best dance workout dvd ever

Comments about Dancing With the Stars Cardio Dance Workout:

I constantly new aerobis, exercise and  yoga techniques through DVDs..I was super excited to get the Dancing With Stars dvd Latin dance.  Cheryl and Maksim are the instructors on this dvd and it is a real treat.  I am already a fan of Dancing with the stars but then to also be able to see my favorite dancers and dane with them is even more fun.  This dvd covers four traditional latin dances like mambo, cha cha etc.  They pretty much give you the right tools and then they tell you how to do them correctly all you have to do is keep up. This is the best exercise dance dvd ever!  It excites me to do it.  Do not get me wrong this is a lot of work because you wanna get the footing and hip action right so that people do not laugh at you,you know?  Any way yoou can do all 4 dances which is plenty and at the end there is a 15 minute workout or you could sometimes just do the dances or sometimes just do the workout-it is totally cool and awesome.

Dancing with the Stars Cardio Dance Workout, Challenging

By

from Blackfoot, ID

Comments about Dancing With the Stars Cardio Dance Workout:

Dancing with the Stars Cardio Dance is an attempt by Dancing with the Stars to create a workout DVD based off the television show.  It is led by professional dancers from Dancing with the Stars, like Maxsim Chmerkovsky, who take you through latin dance routines.  Unfortuntately, although the instructors seem to have it easy, you may have a hard time following because they don't teach you like a regular dance teacher would, from the back, so they'll tell you to go right, but on the screen, since they are facing you, they will be going left, and you will end up lost.  In addition, the instructors do not give you enough time before they decide to move onto another step, and they expect you to keep up with their pace.  Although it is challenging, it is possible to do it after trying several times.  I would recommend watching it a couple of times through first before trying it yourself, so you can get familiar with the teaching styles of the instructors.  The routines are great fun, after you are actually able to learn them.

I love dancing, making it a workout is a lot of fun

Comments about Dancing With the Stars Cardio Dance Workout:

I did the dancing with the stars video workout while my son was sleeping. I hadn't done anything exersize wise except for a few walks. I wasn't able to finish the whole video I had to stop it half way thru. I love the way you can choose to have it just play music or have the intrustors talk with you thru the video. I plan on using this video for the remander of the time. I also love how there is music when the intructors talk. I also love the different dances. I am also able to costumize the video to the way I want it, If I want to skip a few dance's I can, if I just want one or two dance's I can have that too. If I don't want to costumize it I don't have to I can just play the whole video. I also love the breaks inbetween the dances with each dancer. That gives me enough time to grab something to drink quickly before the next dance. This would be a great video for that busy mom who doesn't have a lot of time but can make a 30 to 60 minute workout work.

Didn't do much for me

By

Comments about Dancing With the Stars Cardio Dance Workout:

I bought this DVD to help get myself motivated to get in shape!!!  I love watching Dancing with the STars and I love dancing.  I thought this DVD with get me motivated and will help get me in shape.  It has Cheryl Burke and Max in it. I love Max!! He is so sexy!!!  I'd probably buy anything that he was on, in, anything...  Anyway, I was pretty disappointed.  It was too slow and boring.  Cheryl Burke is kind of blah in the video and Max is just good looking...the direction just wasn't there, or I should say the motivation wasn't there.

I still have the DVD in hopes of trying it again one more time.  If it does not work that time, I'll be giving it away.  Really sad since I think dancing is one of the best ways to get in shape!!  I would love to go on Dancing with the Stars as an amateur!  But as far as this DVD is concerned, they will be not awesome body being shaped from the video.  Sad, but I still love Max!
