For someone who had only tried the original DDR maybe twice before, I was surprised to get this for a birthday present.  As a life-time dancer and musician who considers herself very coordinated, I was surprised at how difficult it really is! That's not to say it's too frustrating--I found myself very motivated to retry stages--even on the beginning or basic level--to improve from a D to a B rating.  Even my husband, who prefers flying/racing/fighting styles games, kept getting back on the pad to aim for a better score.  I also caught my 50+ father practicing the other day so he could beat me...

That said, the costs for the Wii version add up quickly--you need to buy an additional pad for multiple player modes and it seems like on the Kokonami pad responds properly.  Also, take off the Wii hand settings and "gimmick" settings--which add more complexity and allow you to make it harder on your opponents--unless you're VERY confident in your skills.
