Alot of stove for just making a lasgna

4

I have to say that I am a bit of an appliance snob. We recently redid our kitchen and I was set on having a designer food network kitchen. I was enamoured with a 6 burners stainless steel duel fuel range and fell in love with the Dacor. Splurging on an appliance that you use every day did not seem that unreasonable especially when the cost was absorbed into the overall budget however after using it for several months I realize that I really don't need such a great machine to cook my skillet dinners! The stove is great and heats up fabulously but unless you are a serious cook its probably not necessary.

warranty a MUST!

NEVER LET YOUR WARRANTY EXPIRE. DACOR WILL EMAIL YOU THE FIRST TIME YOUR WARRANTY EXPIRATION DATE IS APPROACHING TO OFFER A WARRANTY RENEWAL. BUT NEVER AGAIN WILL THAT HAPPEN IF YOUR STOVE IS A LEMON. THEY TOLD ME OVER THE PHONE THAT IT'S UP TO THEIR OWN DISGRESSION IF THEY OFFER A WARRANTY RENEWAL THROUGH EMAIL. WHEN BUYING A DUAL RANGE LOOK OVER THE WARRANTY SERVICES. I TOLD MY HUSBAND THAT WE HAD TO BUY A NEW WARRANTY BEFORE THE EXPIRATION DATE BECAUSE REPAIR PEOPLE TOLD WE DACOR'S HARD LINE APPROACH. BUY THE WARRANTY BEFORE THE DATE OF EXPIRATION! Temperature Control THE FLAME ON THE COOKTOP IS NOT A SOPHISTICATED FLAME...MEANING YOU CANNOT GET A GOOD RANGE OF CONTROL. Heat Distribution I REMEMBER THE OVEN BEING MORE EFFICIENT THE FIRST YEAR. Durability HAVE A WARRANTY! Design WELL SOMETHING IS RIGHT. EASY TO OPERATE. Ease of Cleaning OVEN IS A MATTER OF PUSHING TOUCH PADS. THE STOVE IS BLACK ENAMEL--A CHORE

Nothing but problems

I have owned the 30" dacor dual fuel range for 10 years and have had nothing but problems.  The igniters don't light properly even after having repairs done. It does not simmer low enough even with simmer plate it burns sauce.   Oven has to be reset after cleaning.  It is nice looking but I finally can't take it anymore and will be replacing it this month.   Buyer Beware.

A great range for casual and serious cooks alike

I purchased this oven 3 years ago as part of our kitchen remodel after much research in-store and online.  I was looking for the performance and features of a professional quality range like Wolf, but without the huge price tag.  My compromise was the Dacor ERD36.  It was not cheap either (retails for about 7-8K), but significantly cheaper than other duel fuel ranges.  It turned out not to be a compromise at all.  I don't have a single complaint about it nor have I had any mechanical problems. The main reasons that I chose Dacor are the following: Good consumer reviews, dual fuel which gives you all of the benfits of a gas cooktop and an electric convection oven.  also, this model had a gas broiler which was also a huge plus 6 burners lots of accessories and the #1 reason I purchased was the size of the oven.  It was the larges of any I had seen in any range ( 4.6cu. feet).  This is so convenient when preparing Thanksgiving dinner.  I can cook 2 turkeys at once in this over, or a single turkey with plenty of room for side dishes.   It is wonderful looking too. I should note that my neighbor has the same stove (only a model that is a few years older) and she has had some problems with the cooking element which she had to replace.  So far, I haven't had any problems and hopefully it is an isolated issue. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend this range.
