I love this system.  I don't know how I would live without tivo. We did try to go to a dvr offered through the satellite system, but couldn't navigate it as easily.  Tivo is really easy to use, and it pretty straight forward. Tivo is fun, easy, and soo convenient. I am a 4 year Tivo subscriber and I don't think I could ever go back to a non-tivo existence.  DVR's in general are a great thing, but Tivo is extra special.  My favorite tivo function is the Wishlist.  I put in all of my favorite Actors in.  I also do wishlists for upcoming trip destinations,so I can find travel shows about places I will be visiting.  You can set it up to automatically record wishlist shows, or just save them and check to wishlist every few days.  Never miss your favorite actor or actress on a… read full review »

I can't watch live TV anymore! I can watch my shows in less time which means I can watch more shows in my limited time. It also means that I don't have to plan my life around my favorite shows. I can go out any night I want and not have to worry about missing my shows. Then when I have down time I can watch what I want to. I can't say enough good things about my Tivo. I honestly don;t know what I did before I got it! I am so addicted that I actually skip watching live shows on purpose so that I can watch the recording later and skip through all the commercials. Tivo is the greatest thing that's happened to TV since....well, EVER. I'm not a sports fan at all, I just love other TV. If you do dig sports then Tivo is even more ideal. The Tivo DVR is easily the best of the DVR's I have used.  It is intuitive, simple to figure out, and dependable.  I own two, and one Windows Media Center, and my first Tivo is over 10 years old and still running! — I highly recommend the lifetime subscription, which can be transferred to a new unit in many  cases.  The new versions have Internet capability and can show specially downloadable videos and games. —  Tivo was the pioneer in DVR technology and it shows.  Keep supporting them for new features and services! —… read full review »

The TIVO is a simple device. I bought mine from Sears three years ago. Two hours before the super bowl and had it setup and running be for kick off. over the last few years my TIVO series 2 had evolved from a recording and playback device to a vital part of my home entertainment center. I just got my first TiVo and I can't believe I waited this long.  It is the best thing to ever happen to television, and I can't imagine someone not being a convert once you try it.  The ability to watch whatever you want, whenever you want, easily record every one of your favorite shows and even control it from a web-based interface are all fantastic features.  You can even download stuff on your TiVo to your computer and take it with you. … read full review »

I have four Tivos in my house and can't imagine living without one.  Everyone else has listed all the great features that the Tivo has, but no one has yet mentioned the 30-second jump feature.  It's a well-known "bug" that isn't documented anywhere in the Tivo literature, but if you ask any Tivo owner, he or she will tell you the 30-second jump is fantastic!  With one push of a button, you can jump 30 seconds forward on a recorded show (or a live show if you're watching the 30-minute cache).  It can get you through an endless commercial break in just moments. —… read full review »

ok so i bought this tivo for my boyfriend because i thaught it would be great for the tv lover!!
