Don't spend the money

Comments about D-Link Network Webcam:

D-Link DCS-920 Wireless-G Internet Camera I got this camera about a month ago. Had to call D-Link to get the wireless function to work. They really weren't much help. Basically they said for me to call Linksys and ask them why the D-Link wouldn't work with my Linksys Router. After calling back and forth several times between my ISP, D-Link, and Linksys - D-link finally decided my camera was defective. They said I needed to call the RMA department. After several calls to this department I was finally able to order a replacement camera, but I had to send my defective camera back at my own expense. At this point I decided to cut my loses and never again buy a D-Link product. I'm going to stick with Linksys on all my future networking needs.

work as describe but lack features

Comments about D-Link Network Webcam:

I bought this product as a basic security camera for my home.  The camera was easy enough to set up to get it running.  It comes with a set up cd with easy to follow instruction.  You need to connect to it with an Ethernet cable first to set it up.  After initial setup, you can change it to wireless mode for more flexibility.  The range is average.  It worked up to 30 ft away from the router with 2 walls between the router and the camera.

The camera picture quality is similar to most webcam.  It perform well in bright light but acceptable with low light.  The camera let you view the pictures via a browser window.  You can also watch the video stream live using either activex or java plugin.  There are also features to upload the pictures to a ftp, or email address on a schedule.  Unfortunately, it doesn't come with motion detection so the before mentioned feature isn't very useful since it will just either ftp/email a picture every x amount of time.
