Cymbalta Review Summary

Depression can be treated with many different drugs and Cymbalta is one of several prescription products manufactured to help ease the pain that depression sufferers often experience. Reviewers like the great feeling that comes over them after using Cymbalta and they like this drug’s use in the fight against social anxiety disorder. Cymbalta is the “Only Drug That Has Ever Made me Feel Normal” but other reviewers offer strongly different opinions, like one who pointed out that Cymbalta “Doesn’t Work for Everyone”. Cymbalta is known to cause drowsiness and the dosages will need to be adjusted to make Cymbalta effective. When you tally up the good and bad, you end up with a Prescription Medication that is pretty good but not the cure- all for depression that many might be seeking.

I had tried several products for anxiety and Cymbalta was brought up. Yes, it's usually treated for depression but it helps my anxious feelings and anxiety. It took effect quicker then most and it was a nice relaxing feeling for the first time in a long time. I was tired at first so I take it in the... read full review »

I read all the review wrote on this product and just by reading them I see that Cymbalta does not work the same for everyone.  Seven years ago I was diagnosed with severe depresssion and first put on zoloft, which did nothing for me, then it was Prozact, then another one and another one, the last antidepressant...

Cymbalta has changed my life!  Before trying Cymbalta about 6 months ago I was unable to concentrate on anything because I was consumed by negative thoughts and self-loathing.  I literally filled my day with thoughts of how terrible I was, how ugly I was, how much of a loser I was, how I hadn't accomplished anything and it turned into a self fulfilling prophecy.  I cried everyday. When my doctor recommended Cymbalta I was willing to try anything if it might help even a little bit.

The first day I took Cymbalta I was a little nervous because I had never taken anti-depressants before.  I got...

cymbalta is the best I've tried for depression, mild deppression. If your depression isn't mild, this isn't for you. The effects are very subtle which iswhy I likeit. what's most important is to give it a try for long enough to know whether it's actually helping ir not.
I needed to up my dosage to o feel better. I started at 60mg, thought "well,it's a little better" we uped it to 90mg, and within 2 weeks I was feeling so much better. you just need to get the dosage right, play around with it. When I went higher than 90mg,I felt anxious..but 90mg was perfect. It's a very subtle drug, just makes...

Like many people suffering from depression and bi-polar disorder - I have gone through myriads of drugs trying to find one that made me feel normal again...

Cymbalta is that drug...

What first attracted me to the drug was its acknowledgement of the physical pain of depression...I had been talking to my doctors about this for years - but none seemed to understand...

But it has helped in other areas as well...I no longer want to hide all of the time...I enjoy getting out and doing things...honestly - I just feel normal...

Side effects can be a bear...but none any worse than the horrors of mental illness......

I have been treated for depression and anxiety for 5 years.  I trusted my Dr. (Shrink) to find me the best solution and went with it.  I wasn't  feeling great and decided to wean my self off of serzone.  Cried for 5 weeks straight until I went to my GP (who was ready to check me in) and she recommend the cymbalta.  It has worked miracles for me. For twenty years I haven't felt like myself. LIFE has all changed.

I can only hope this drug works on others  as well as it has worked fo me!!

I was on Cymbalta primarily for nerve pain.  It did help me as far as the pain went.  I had horrible side effects like weird dreams or nightmares.  When I was titrating my doses to stop taking it, I had bad withdrawl symptoms.  I would not recommend anyone take this medication.

I have suffered from severe depression all my life.  I am now 60 years old and I haven't been able to take a lot of antidepressants.  Cymbalta is one I have been able to take with no reactions and it has really helped me.  If anyone has problems with antidepressants I would recommend talking to your doctor about Cymbalta.  It also helps with my mood swings.  Talk to your doctor about CYMBALTA.

I began taking Cymbalta approximately 8 weeks ago.  It was prescribed to me for some Menopausal and depression issues.  At first, I felt better. I had an increase in energy, I was excercising, and eating healthier.  About three weeks ago a change came over me.  I was breaking into a sweat during stressful periods at work.  Stress that usually I handled well. I love my job, have a great husband and family, and a wonderful son and daughter-in-law, and a beautiful grandchild.  Suddenly I was having anxiety attacks in the middle of the day. I was prescribed xanax for the anxiety...

First of all, I started out with depression which nothing seemed to help. For years, I was switched to different depression drugs. They would help for a while, then I would go into a deep depression. It would take a lot for me to get out of it. My doctor would change me again, and again. Being a diabetic and having fibromyalgia, plus Rhuematoid Arthritis, my days consist of pain and more pain. When I was diagnosed with diabetic neuropathy, (if you don't know what it is, here is a little note about it). Your legs, feet, including all toes begin to feel like they are on fire, they hurt, they tingle,...

I have been on this medicine for over a year.  It has helped me greatly with not only my depression, but also my trigeminal neuralgia pain.  I can tell if I miss a dose of it though, because I get weepy and hurt more than normal.  I haven't had any really bad reactions to this medicine, and I haven't had to increase the dosage since I started on it.

This medication has helped me in dealing with chronic pain that I've been dealing with for approximately 6 yrs. now.  I've taken it for about 2 yrs. now.  I would recommend it in dealing with chronic back pain as well as radicular pain going down the legs.  The nerve pain seemed to improve as did my attitude in dealing with chronic pain.

I have suffered from depression since I was twelve, I have been on thirteen different anti depressant medication and none of them have given me the amount of relief that Cymbalta has!! My body builds a tolerance over time and they end up switching my medicine when I have reached the maximum dose of that medicine, so far I haven't even had to have my dose adjusted and I have been on Cymbalta over a year!!

Since switching to Cymbalta, I feel a lot happier, I have a high tolerance in stressful situations and I find that my physical aches and pains are a lot better overall!! Usually it takes about...

What can I say? Ever since I was 18 years old i suffered from severe panic attacks and anxiety.  Alcohol helped me from 18 to 21 but at 21 I actually sought help.  My doc put me on Prozac I was on Prozac from 21 to 24- I hated Prozac it helped my symptoms but made me crazy- I was not myself on that med. Finally my fiance wanted me to look into my other options and my doc suggested cymbalta. I thought I would give it a try it couldnt be any worse.  While I was switching I want through a bad withdrawal for about 3 weeks but now things have never been better....I feel NORMAL and REAL!! Im so...

I've tried almost all of them.  Some worked for years, but stopped being effective for me.  Cymbalta worked terrifically!!  The cost was prohibitive for me even with prescription drug coverage (which didn't cover Cymbalta).  My Dr. kindly keeps me supplied with samples while we both search for a cost solution.  We are researching Canadian pharmacies which look very promising!   I cannot function without this life-saving drug.
