Cutco Knives Review Summary

Reviewers believe that "Cutco is the highest quality cutlery available." The love of Cutco knives has been carried down through generations, as consumers are finding that no other cutlery brand "meets the same high standards as Cutco." While these knives aren't sold in stores, and they're "a little pricey as it is," reviewers still feel they are "simply the best." This cutlery is intended to last a lifetime, as it comes with a forever guarantee, which allow for the knives to get sharpened, fied, or replaced. They believe that "Cutco Knives represent American family dinner time. " Cutco does have a few detractors, those that believe the door-to-door selling of the product misrepresents the brand and that "you will never see on in a real kitchen." Compare Cutco to the other cutlery brands out there.

My mother owned and used Cutco knives when I was a child, and now I own a larger set than she does! I was actually a sales representative for the brand for a few years, so I know a lot about how the knives are made and used, and I have never seen another brand that meets the same high standards as Cutco....

First, I want to tell you how I got introduced to the Cutco knives.  A friend of mine, who was working for Vector marketing gave her superiors my name as someone who might be interested in working for Vector Marketing.  The thing about the suggestion is that if I joined, she got a "bonus" so it proves... review »

You will never see anyone who makes a living with thier knives use cutco.
they steel their knives daily, hone them weekly

They are marketed to brides with money to spend on the new nest.

Direct marketing is an expesive way tell sell anything, A huge amount of the sales price goes into the selling comission  not the product.

If you can afford cotco go buy a good steel and Tri stone, and learn to use them.

If you are real serious get a wet grinding system,

when you send your child to cooking school , don't buy them cutco knives

these knive come with a strang grind from the factory and are not very good steel.  the "ergonimic" handle design is clumsy and uncomfortable.  the balance on most of the knives is way off and the dont hold an edge.

Cutco knives are the best brand of cutlery out there. They are not sold in stores or they would be incredibly expensive. They are a little pricey as it is, but they are worth it. For anyone looking to make an investment in one set of knives that will last them a lifetime and more, these are the knives for you.  The reason you only need to buy one set is because the set comes with a forever guarantee, making it convenient to get knives sharpened, fixed or replaced in the event of any type of use, either for free or for a fraction of the original cost. They only need to be sharpened every 1-7 years,... review »

my oldest brother sold cutco when i was 5 and what i remember most about this time was watching 2 of my other brothers (i have 6 of them) sit and cut pennies with the cutco scissors my mother bought. that was 40 years ago (i dont know how since im only 22 lol) and the pair of scissors used to cut that money is the pair my mom uses today.  since the scissors come apart they are perfect for curling ribbon on gifts and since my mom has 9 kids and a gazillion grandkids and friends those scissors have curled miles and miles of ribbons..and they still cut coins with no problem. i grew up using all the...

Cutco is not sold in stores.  It is the best cutlery product on the market - far superior to other, oftentimes more expensive knives sold in upscale stores.  It's a quality, lifetime product.  Cutco has a "forever" guarantee that is the lifetime of each knife, not just the lifetime of the initial purchaser.  They stand behind their product.  The knives can be purchased individually or in different set combinations.  The "trimmer" is my favorite knife.

I am 45, an avid home canner and cook.  I like nice cookware, Italian made stainless and copper, old time cast iron and enamel ware.  I can everything from meats to soups to vegetables and fish,, if its been canned in the last 100 years,  I try it.   So,,   with that being said,  I am into the best of the best!

I first saw Cutco at the county fair this last summer.  I thought it was just a gimmick and I didn't buy it.  I came home and started getting online to research it.  I went to the website.  I went to review sites.   I ran back to the fairgrounds and picked up the cheese...

I enjoy using my cutco knives for many reasons.  First the sharp blades.  I cut through anything with little to no force!  I also enjoy the comfortable handles.  The cutco knives are light weight and easy to use.  They are durable and have the best guarantee around!  The only con I can find wrong with the knives are they are not dishwasher safe.  Another negative point is they are expensive to buy.  But on the plus side, if someone can afford them, and don't mind hand washing them, I feel cutco is the knife for them!  Cutco represents the American dinner time by bringing families back... review »

I grew up with a set of Cutco in the house and wanted a set when I got married.  I got a set, and my friends all got other various brands.  Mine are still as sharp as the day I got them, seven years later, and all my friends have had to buy at least one new set since.

I liked the "sales pitch" because they taught me how to use the knives like a chef.  I also like the fact that you can get them sharpened, even the serrated ones, if you need to.   It really impressed me that the knives haven't changed since the 70's, when my mother bought her set.  They still look and feel the same.  The...

I love to cook and I appreciate good equipment. These knives make cooking that much more enjoyable for me. They are the best, most useful knives I have ever used or owned. Who needs a food processor when you knives this good!

The service from the company is outstanding - they contact me on a regular basis and have someone come to my house at my convenience to keep the knives sharp - free of charge. They send me info about new items with special offers but don't hound me with sales reps.

I have given away several as gifts and always they have been well received.

They cost a bit more (well more than...

I just recently purchased a set of Cutco knives and I really love them. I don't know that much about knives but I do enjoy cooking and these knives have worked wonderfully with everything I have used them on. I especially love the 'trimmer' its small size and serrated edge making slicing tricky items (like tomatoes) easy and quick. I also purchased the cheese knife which is, by far, the best one I have ever tried. All the knives are very sharp, comfortable to hold and seem to be very good quality.

My favorite part of the Cutco knives is the 'forever guarantee' that they come with. This is an amazing...

I have enjoyed a small set of Cutco knives for the past ten or more years. They are just as sharp today as the day I bought them! Yes, they are expensive, but extremely comfortable in the hand and well balanced. I especially love the vegetable peeler because it doesn't require a tight grip to use thus enabling me to peel potatoes easily and without my fingers and hand falling asleep (I have carpel tunnel). I enjoy the spatula spreader as well because it can be used for spreading butter or cutting through bagels. It is also child friendly (with supervision) as it has a rounded end and is not... review »

I am always looking for things to make my life easier so when a friend told me about how wonderful these knives were I was a little skeptical but willing to give them a try. I am SO GLAD I did; these knives shave off precious minutes that I can use to spend more time with my family!
There is absolutely no risk involved with CUTCO knives! If for some reason you decide not to keep them you can send them back for a full refund, but I guarantee that you are going to love them!!!
When compared to other more expensive brands, CUTCO knives outshine ALL the competition!

cutco knives have been an essential part of my kitchen. I love the wooden handles and they are easy to grip and very comfortable when using. This comes in very handy when I am tacklling all the needs of my husband, two children, and cooking all at the same time. They also sharpen very nicely when i have dwindled down the blades from extended use. cutco knives are very durable and wash well in the dishwasher. I would recommend these to anyone who enjoys cooking. Even if I had to purchase more knives, I would go with this same exact brand. I love using them soo much.
