I am 45, an avid home canner and cook. I like nice cookware, Italian made stainless and copper, old time cast iron and enamel ware. I can everything from meats to soups to vegetables and fish,, if its been canned in the last 100 years, I try it. So,, with that being said, I am into the best of the best!
I first saw Cutco at the county fair this last summer. I thought it was just a gimmick and I didn't buy it. I came home and started getting online to research it. I went to the website. I went to review sites. I ran back to the fairgrounds and picked up the cheese knife, the santuko or however you spell that, a paring knife and a steak knife. Amazing stuff!
I've bought knives in knife stores, butcher shops, at Macy's,, all the very best knives that are available. Nothing stayed sharp. My old hickory is easy to sharpen, but everything else gets dull fast. If I were a professional chef and was able to sharpen my knives everyday, perhaps I would be happier with a different brand, but for a homemaker/gourmet cook/canner,,, nothing comes close to cutco!
I have almost every peice now. I just ordered the meat cleaver, boning knife, and butcher knife yesterday. They are having a sale right now. I do shop alot on ebay for bargains, but in reality, sometimes, you can pay almost retail on ebay and not have the same comfort of knowing you are buying directly from the manufacturer.
I may sound like a sales person, which I promise I am not, I just am one of those, informed consumers...
I can conclude by saying, Cutco, where have you been all my life! Move over Wustoff and Henckle!
