A backrest is really nice to have on a motorcycle and if you buy one you also have to buy the mounts...Nope they don't come with the backrest anymore!

Custom World International Backrest Mounts

These are very heavy and chrome plated to add some extra Bling to your bike. They install rather easy and it took me about 15 minutes to get them mounted to the side of my fender brackets on the back of my bike. I would guess these to weigh about 2 1/2 pounds each with 2 mounting holes that match to whatever bike you bought them for.

The backrest then mounts to these to make a very sturdy and good looking addition to your bike. As with any chrome accessory they need a good coat of polish to help them stay looking good. These mounting brackets do come with a set of nuts and bolts to mount them but the stock ones on the bike will work just as well so you don't really need them, except as spares maybe.

Bottom Line

I was not happy when I found out that you can no longer buy the brackets and backrest as a set anymore. Such is progress I guess but that is how it goes. Used to be the backrest and mounts were sold altogether but if you want it you have to do it their way! Between these and the backrest though the back of the bike is no longer Nekid!....lol

I found a place that still includes both and their prices are higher than the ones doing it separate. So I am sure this way is the lessor of 2 evils. On my bike there are 3 versions the Classic, Silverado and Custom each has different mounting holes. It seems it falls on the bike manufacturers. The nice part is I can get a less expensive mount and put what ever style backrest I want, there lies the reason I am not too upset they do it the way they do. ;)

Be sure to give your backrest a low rating then, okay....not including mounts is just plain BAD customer service. Whether its industry standard or not, it's still just plain RUDE.
