Perfect for its size

5

This food processor works great. Sometimes I am amazed at the items it can handle. I have found, however, with large chunks of chicken you may have to stop in between and shake it up, but I think that is to be expected and would work better in a large processor. As far as peppers, tomatoes, nuts, etc, this is the perfect size and quality. Overall this was a great buy on a deal site. It works quickly and effectively. I only wish I had a full-size processor, and will be looking to buy one from this brand if the price is right. Safety There is a safety latch so that the buttons only work if you have locked it in, which is nice. Ease of Cleaning You have to disassemble all parts to wash thoroughly, but that is to be expected.

Too small to be really useful

2

Worked well the first two times I used it even though I had to do everything in batches so it takes three times as long. Then today it started smoking while using it. Guess the motor burned up. Could be user error but really, the size makes it useless for normal use. I should have just splurged and gotten a bigger processor but this one, despite its flaws, got in our small storage kitchen. I'd recommend if you are making baby food maybe, I guess... I regrettably had to throw the device away which makes me very sad since now I have to ask for a new one for Christmas instead of sephora gift cards. Lol Power It spun the blade quickly but it never seemed to purée effectively. It did start smoking on my counter while in use... Not sure if that's evidence of its power or lack of it. Ease of Assembly I had some difficulty locking the bowl into place but it was only because my hands would be messy from doing things in batches and it's not easy to empty the bowl. Ease of Cleaning Since I had to do multiple batches, the thing always was a disaster.

Mini Food Processor

I bought this food processor after my big one also from Cuisinart broke on me. I mostly used this to puree fruits, vegetables and meat for my daughter when she first started on solids. I needed something to replace my old one and I did not want to spend a lot of money or it take up too much space. I got all of that with this little guy. At first I was a bit leery because I was not sure if it was going to work for what I needed. I was pleasantly surprised. It was able to function exactly how I needed it to, and was nice that it did not take up too much room on the counter when I used it. I really love how the cord also can be wrapped up and stored under the base, so you don't have a loose cord lying around when you store it. I do wish it was slightly bigger, because I do have to use it in small amounts and it can be a bit time consuming since you can not fit a lot into it at once. I don't like that you have to press and hold the button while pureeing. I wish you could just push it and walk a way for a minute if you needed to. Other then that I would say it is a great little machine and works pretty well. I don't use it to puree baby food anymore but I do find other great uses for it. It is a wonderful addition to the kitchen. Safety It will not work unless the lid is on and snaps in place. I find this a very good feature since you are dealing with a very sharp blade.

What a fantastic little Food processor

5

I am so impressed with all of the things that I can do with my Cuisinart food processor. I was given this food processor as a house warming gift. I had never owned a food processor before as I thought they would be difficult to clean, had small food openings and basically did the same things my blenders could do. This food processor changed my mind. I use mine all the time. I began using it when my son was 10 months old. I used it to make baby food for him at home. This processor worked wonders at pureeing fruits and vegetables! I didn't just use it to make baby food, I also used it to make other items as well. I love that I can chop herbs, mix both dry and wet ingredients, puree fruits and vegetables, make soup bases, mix salad dressings and make dips and hummus in this processor. It is the mini version but it is the perfect size for me and my family. You can use the blade to do different tasks. I have never tried to grate cheese with this but I will now try after reading what other reviewers have said. It's size also makes it very easy to store in either your cupboard or pantry. It is also very attractive so you could also get away with leaving it out on the counter. Power This min prep processor is very powerful for it's size. Safety I feel that this is a very safe product to use. Very easy to use as well. Ease of Cleaning This processor is very easy to take apart and clean by hand. Durability This is a very durable product.

Great little processor

We did research on the best brands of food processors, and value for the money, before we added this food processor to our wedding registry. We were very pleased to receive it, and after over 3 years of use, it still works like a charm. The only thing I would change is that I would want a slightly larger bowl, since many mixed ingredient recipes (pesto, salsa, etc.) needs to be processed in multiple batches. However, it does a wonderful job chopping onions, fruits, nuts, herbs, and almost anything else you can imagine. It has a high and low setting - which I find perfectly sufficient - is sleek, attractive, easy to maintain, and cleans up very easily, so it looks nice in the kitchen, but it is small and discrete, so it stows easily too. Cuisinart is a brand I tend to trust in the kitchen, most of the reviews I read in this machine were very positive, and I'm very glad this is the processor we selected. It's not very expensive, is a good value for the money, is quite durable, the blades stay sharp, and it delivers on all it's promises. We are very pleased with it!

Great little food processor for quick cooking jobs

5

Love this little guy, so handy to do just about anything a big food processor does but takes up less space. Easy to use and easy to clean. Small but packs a punch when I need to process meat into ground meat or make bread crumbs, or chop nuts or veggies. Power Perfect, it has a high and low setting both are strong and effective. Safety Excellent, this product "will not" go unless you have the notch on the lid in the power slot and secured. Great if you have small children, they can't accidentally chop anything, not even their fingers. Ease of Assembly Very simple, only the blade, container and lid to deal with. Ease of Cleaning Easily comes apart for thorough cleaning. Container, lid, and blade all dismantle easily and well as go back together easily. Durability Very durable, I use mine to chop and mince a lot of meat. It is cheaper for me to buy cheap cuts of meat and make hamburger my self, and then it is still sharp and strong enough to do simple things like bread crumbs and coffee beans too!

Great For Nuts and Small Servings

I have found this mini food processor useful for making hummus, grinding nuts, and even grinding coffee beans. It's just a tad small for making a batch of hummus, but even filled almost to the top it does it's job. I even managed to make a decent batch of pesto in this little thing. All of the components are easy to clean and the small size makes it handy to pull out and use for small jobs. The blade flips around you you can use the blunt edge for coffee beans. There doesn't seem to be a huge difference between the speeds, but that doesn't diminish it's effectiveness. The difference is more in the "pulse" rather than the speed. Easy to clean and handy to store. It is sleek and stylish and goes with most modern kitchen decors. The blade is very sharp, so like most food processors, you must be very careful when cleaning or attempting to flip the blade. I throw it all in the dishwasher and it comes out fine.

Cuisinart Mini-Prep Processor is Perfect For Smaller Jobs

5

I have a larger food processor, but wanted to find one that I could leave out on the counter all the time that didn't take up too much room. This is why I decided to try the Cuisinart Mini-Prep Processor DLC-1. I have had this processor for more than 5 years and have been delighted with all of the different things I can do with it. Some examples of jobs I have had no problems using this processor for include making bread crumbs out of both bread and crackers, puree frozen fruit for smoothies and other recipes and also processing tomatoes. Really if you are only looking to do a small batch of something this is the processor for you. The only warning I would give is to make sure not to overload this processor. For example I made graham cracker crumbs and needed to take some out because they weren't getting small enough for the crust I was making. I would highly recommend this product due to its durability, ease of use and the fact that it is super easy to clean (just put the cup/blades in the dishwasher and you are done).

Great for small jobs!

I received this food processor fourteen years ago for my wedding shower and it is still going strong. The size is perfect for small jobs. I have used it for everything from making salsa or relish, to grinding nuts to making baby food. It can be a little bit picky about needing enough liquid to really grind but it gets the job done. Keep in mind that it is fairly small. If you are looking for a food processor for larger jobs you might want to go with a bigger model. This food processor has two speeds (high and low) and you can use your hand to pulse the food. It is simple but simple works just fine for me. Most of the parts are top rack dishwasher safe which is another big bonus for me. It also has a nice safety feature that it will not run unless assembled just so. This helps keep littles ones from messing with the food processor. I would highly recommend this food processor to any home cook.

Very nice addition to the kitchen

4

The Cuisinart Mini food processor has been a fun addition to my kitchen. My husband loves it to make homemade curry paste- which is what we bought it for. It is the perfect size for making paste for one meal (for 2 with leftovers)- about 1 cup. I've seen some mini food processors that are uselessly tiny- but this is a usable yet small size. I've used it to puree fruit for homemade fruit leathers. I had to do it in several batches, but that wasn't a problem. I also crumbled biscuits in it for cheesecake base. That I did in two batches. It is a bit small for some things, but really I find it much more useful than a full sized food processor (that are normally too big if cooking for one or two). Power It has two speed settings- or really I think it is the same speed in the two directions. So one direction cuts with the lower blade, the other direction cuts with the upper blade. It purees things well, and the curry paste is just the right consistency. I don't know if it would really grind coffee like it claims, but I don't need it for that... Safety It wont start unless you have locked the bowl into the base properly. Durability We have had this mini food processor for about 3 years. It still works well, although the bowl has quite a few scratches.
