Use it all the time!

This is a little food processor that works exactly like it should. It chops and grinds perfectly. When I want nuts chopped, the mini prep chops them just as I would with a knife--only better. It works perfectly for herbs as well. Power This is one powerful little machine! It always has enough power to chop what I put in it. I often use it to make tomato sauce from the excess tomatoes I have left from my garden. Of course, I don't use it for a big batch--just enough for a pizza or something similar. It also has enough power when I need to puree small amounts of fruit for a dish. Safety It won't work without the lid securely fastened. So, there is no possibility of cutting myself. Ease of Assembly It comes in four pieces: base, blade, bowl and lid. All I have to do to use it, is to put the bowl on the base, put the blade in place, fill it with what I want chopped or ground, and tighten the lid. Very easy. Ease of Cleaning It all comes apart easily. It is best to fill the bowl halfway with hot soapy water to clean the blade so avoid cutting yourself. I then take it apart and clean the bowl and lid with soapy water. Durability It just never gives up and I use it at least once a week.

MIni but powerful

I bought this little addition originally to make baby food for my 6 month old. I needed something to process medium batches of food into a liquid/ baby food consistancy. Let me start by saying, this is beyond perfect for that. I would steam apples, carrots, pears, potatoes, everything and then puree it with the Cuisinart Mini Food Processor. The motor in the appliance may be small, but it is extremely powerful. It would only take but 5-10 seconds to break the food down to the consistancy I wanted. As my little one got older the food, we started introducing texture into her diet. Again, this appliance shined. Obviously it took less time amd I had complete control over how thick or thin I wanted it to be. After she turned 10 months their was no longer a need to puree food, she was onto solids. Nonetheless, this machine then became a family appliance. Soups, salsas, chopping down onions, grinding up coffee beans! So glad that I got this product, I emd up using it way more than I had though. The only complaint I have about it, iz that when your pouring the contents out, the blade is not locked in place so you have to take ot out before hand, and then its kind of a pain to put back in. You have to put the bowl back on the machine, then put the blade in. Makes a few extra steps if your doing batches.

Small, compact yet a sturdy chopper!

Good things come in small packages! This saying suits this small, beautiful, compact and durable Cuisinart Mini Prep Plus Chopper. This is the first ever chopper/grinder I bought. I bought it like 3 years back and have been using it since then without any complains or problem. I use it to chop veggies like onion, carrots, pepper, to make salsa, tomato puree etc. The best part, its not as loud as other choppers. A quick warning, be careful while cleaning it. Blades are real sharp and may give you a tough time. Cleaning it is the only part, I do not like it somehow. It is an excellent over the counter, daily use product that is too easy to assemble. Just fix 4 pieces together and you are all set to chop or grind what ever you wish. I recommend this product for anyone and everyone. It might be a good handy equipment for moms too, to prepare baby food! Overall, I am happy with my purchase!

Disappointed owner

I always believe and still do that Cuisinart products are excellent, durable and very reliable. However, my husband and I were very disappointed with the food processor that we bought recently. It broke down on us. And it happened twice; we bought same brand of food processor twice, thinking that there was just something wrong with the first one we bought. It was very unfortunate that it broke down and it had to happen on the day that we had guests. We had to do everything manually. And I tell you mincing garlic is hard. The blade just stopped working on both products. Seems unbelievable but it happened. Maybe it was just coincidence but hopefully it won't happen again when we decide to buy another Cuisinart product. Overall I give it a 4. So, it's up to you to decide whether you'll want to trust this product or not. Good Luck. Durability The blade just stopped working for unknown reason.

Packs a punch

Overall I a very satisfied with this food processor. I have had this maybe 4 or 5 years and it has lasted. I live in a 400 square foot apartment and do not have room for too many full sized appliances so decided this was one we could do a mini version of. It's small enough to leave on the counter all the time. I mostly use it to make hummus and other bean dips but I have also used it to make a finer grind for almond flour and to mix ingredients for mini pie crusts. The only downside to this is that you have to continually press the buttons for it to work. When you take your finger off, the machine stops. As far as I am concerned since it's only for small jobs it is usually pretty quick and doesn't matter anyway. It also make for an easy way for you to pulse without actually having a pulse button. I do also wish that it had more of the functions of a full sized food processor like the feeding shoot and various blade options but if you are looking to save space and money this is a good bet. Ease of Assembly There are only 4 pieces including the base. Ease of Cleaning I put mine in the dishwasher.

Does so much being so little

I absolutely love my mini Cuisinart food processor. I have a large one & it's just too many pieces and too big. The mini is perfect for chopping onions, carrots, celery, etc. I even made my daughter's baby food with it! It was perfect! Perfect size & not too much to quickly clean up. It cuts your prep time in half (actually more I'm sure!) and works like a charm! Not too loud either. I love it. Seems to have a lot of power. Haven't come acts anything that it can't chop/purée yet. It is very safe as long as you use it the correct way. The blades are sharp so you have to be careful when you're handling them. The fact that it only has four pieces total makes it super easy to assemble and take apart and clean. It's very very fast at chopping and puréeing. I also love that it comes in a wide variety of colors that I was able to pick one that goes great with my kitchen. It's nice and tiny so it doesn't take up a lot of storage in your cabinet! I recommend it to anybody. beginner cooks, professional chefs, stay-at-home mom! it's perfect!

Easy to Use Tool

This mini chopper has been a blessing in disguise. I used to manually chop veggies for mini egg rolls and the veggies needed to be finely chopped. It used to take me forever to prep the veggies, most times I would prepare the day before. We bought the mini chopper initially to make baby food for our son. Since it had two slice settings, we tried chopping veggies and discovered how easy it was to do. My prep time for a lot of dishes have been cut down to half and it has saved my wrists and clean up is a snap. Another feature that I love about the mini chopper is that it is compact and can be stored pretty much anywhere. The locking mechanism on the chopper ensures that little fingers can't operate the chopper with out properly clicking the holder on the base. Another awesome feature is the size - it is not bulky and it can do the same things that a bigger chopper can do, but at a smaller quantities. We have used the chopper veggies, salsa, egg salad, cold soups, etc. It has so many uses. We have had this chopper for over 5 years and its still going strong. We love it!

Great chopper to meet needs of 2 or less people.

Great little chopper. Cuts well and evenly. All the pieces end up the same size. Only thing I don't like is having to wash all the pieces every time. Power Power is great, and works no matter how long you hold down the button. Safety I've cut my fingers a few times getting the blade out to wash it. It also has a safety feature that prevents it from running unless the lid is locked in place. Ease of Assembly Easy to assemble, and has a safety lid that has to be locked for it to start. Sometimes you have to mess with it to get it locked, but other than that no problems. Ease of Cleaning 3 pieces that have to be cleaned every time you wash it. Much easier to put in the dishwasher than wash by hand. Unless you cut up something that just needs to be rinsed off. Durability Good durability. I have had mine over 3 years and it is still running strong. I would recommend this as a high quality product that lasts a long time. I have dropped mine on the floor, some of the bottom broke but nothing integral, and it still runs.

Cusinart Mini Prep Chopper Review

For someone who doesn't have room for a bigger chopper I would recommend this tool. Though overall I would say save up for a bigger chopper. My biggest complaint is how easy it is to over-chop food with such a small chopper. If you are cooking for one this will be fine enough but anything over that will be time consuming to keep refilling your ingredients. Other than that it does do the job if you want a small chopper to do some quick mincing. Power The power is great for such a small chopper. It is as powerful as a bigger food processor. Safety When the lid is on the product feels very safe and secure. Ease of Assembly The Cusinart Mini Prep Chopper is very easy to assembly. Just place the blade in the bowl and click on the lid. Ease of Cleaning The Cusinart Mini Prep Chopper is very easy to clean. All you have to do is rinse out the blade, bowl and lid. I never have any food stuck inside after. Durability While this model is small in size but it feels durable enough that it won't break within a year. But it is made of plastic so with care it should last years.

Great handy little product to have around

This food processor really makes my life so much easier. I actually purchased this on sale a couple years ago at Bed, Bath, and Beyond and I had a coupon. So, it ended up being pretty inexpensive, so that was AWESOME! I had needed a food processor and started out with this little tiny one. It is PERFECT to make salsa, olive tapenade, cheese spreads, and various other dips. That is the main reason I use this product. I make that kind of stuff all the time. If I had not purchased this smaller one I would not be able to make those things in the big one. Because there is so little of the product it would all just sit at the bottom. That is why this is so perfect. And yes I know some of the larger ones have the smaller bowls you can switch out, but who wants to lug out a huge processor? Not me. I actually purchased a larger one as well, and I only use it occasionally. Don't get me wrong, I love it too, it makes things easier, but it is huge and more to clean up. This sits in a tiny little area in my kitchen cabinet where I can quickly access it. Try it out, it is super cheaper and will be your best friend in the kitchen! :-)
