This is by far the easiest way to make homemade ice cream! This machine makes it so easy for you to have all natural, homemade, great tasting ice cream and sherbet in about 30 minutes. I received this Ice Cream maker as a gift last year from my in-laws. At first I wasn't too thrilled with it. It seem like it would be a hassle to freeze the canister every time you needed to use it (16 hours before!) BUT then I realized I could just keep the container in the freezer so as to be ready to make ice cream ALL the time! Since we bought it (and discovered how useful it REALLY is!) we have only bought store made ice cream twice - when we were having company - since this is sort of a smaller machine and really doesn't make enough for more than 6 people MAX. I received this as a Christmas gift as I am a huge ice cream lover! At first I wasn't sure if it was something I would use, but I gave it a shot. My 6 year old son and I looked through the recepie book that came with the ice cream maker and picked out the basic vanilla recipie since we had the ingredients. With a little direction, my son was able to do most of the work himself. Once everything was put into the ice cream maker, he turned it on and watched. I love this ice cream maker!  There is no need for ice or salt!  That was the big seller for us.  The bowls being frozen (I keep mine in the freezer at all times) makes making homemade ice cream fast and easy.  I even got another bowl so that we can make two flavors back to back.  We can put away quite a bit of ice cream if we want to so the bowls are a little small.  All in all I love it and have already bragged to my friends and family! — —… read full review »

The Cuisinart ICE 20 1.5 quart ice cream maker is the perfect size to make ice cream for up to 6 people.  It is very simple to use and quite portable.  I like the fact that it requires no rock salt or hand cranking. We just got the Cuisinart ICE-20, and we love it. We keep the bowl in the freezer all the time, since the major downside is that you have to freeze the bowl for 6-22 hours before each batch. Clean-up is very easy, and it freezes ice cream fast. (Just remember that homemade ice cream from any ice cream maker is going to be soft serve consistency until you let it ripen in your freezer.) This is truly simple to use and makes great tasting ice-cream that lasts well when stored for about a week. If you keep the canister in the freezer, you're ready to make ice-cream any time.
