I love coffee. When I saw the Cuisinart Grind and Brew, I thought, this is it, for consumer coffee makers. It was a bit expensive (Penny's for $120).
I would ask for my money back if I could. Here is why. If you put the water and beans in, and brew right away, it works... okay. Sometimes the chute gets partially clogged. Sometimes it doesn't.
If, on the other hand, you fill it with water, beans, and set the timer for the next morning, be prepared for the disappointment. The moisture from the water condenses on the inside of the grinder and coffee chute. In the morning, when it grinds, the damp grinder and chute clog up. Little coffee makes it to the baskett and you end up with yellow, hot water.
It does have two pros. First, the timer works fine. Second, you can throw your alarm clock away. The grinder sounds like a 747 taking off from Laguardia! It scared my wife when it went off... and our bedroom is upstairs!!!
Don't waste your good money. Find another coffee maker/grinder, that is, unless you need an alarm clock.
