If you like freshly ground coffee in the morning with no effort involved other than waking up, this is the horse right here.  You load it up with beans in the grinder apparatus, pour in the water, insert the filter, turn on the timer, and voila!  Freshly ground coffee upon… read full review »

We received the Cuisinart Grind & Brew Thermal Coffee Maker as a Christmas present from my sister.  I enjoy a latte mug or two of coffee in the morning but I'm by no means picky about coffee making machines or beans.  Folger's has always been good enough for me.   My… read full review »

The Good:  For those of you who love freshly ground beans, the Cuisinart Grind & Brew Thermal Coffeemaker grinds your coffee beans just before brewing.   It looks nice on a counter top - black with stainless steel.   It is a really easy coffee maker to use - and cleaning isn't a hassle (most parts are dishwasher safe).  It has a timer, so you can set it to brew before you wake-up.  From my perspective, the coolest feature is that you can poor a cup of coffee while it's still brewing and the coffee will automatically stop dripping (it's called the ‘Brew… read full review »

I've had my Cuisenart Grind & Brew thermal carafe coffee maker (insert Tim Taylor grunts here!) for about 4 years now. It works well enough and since I have a 16 yr old daughter to do the dishes, cleaning is not an issue! —  HOWEVER...if I had it to do over I definitely would select another unit. For $200, you would think that it would have some really great features or do something really special. But it doesn't! The grinder is not adjustable (and loud as can be!) and often gets stuck and is hard to remove. This wouldn't be a huge deal except for the fact that it needs… read full review »

Got this as a present for my father. When my Krups coffee maker began to drip he offered me his Cuisinart! Of course I agreed that I would put it to good use and I do. — Nice that it's programmable and even works as a psychological alarm clock knowing that I have a hot pot of coffee to wake up to (plus the sound of the grinder is loud enough for me to hear in my bedroom). Even has an option for only 1-4 cups if you're making a smaller pot. And the internal grinder makes my old coffee grinder obsolete! —  Is not that hard to clean... just rinse out the coffee grounds and toss… read full review »

This is one of the worst purchases I've made in my 66 years.  Grinder is too loud.  No selection of grinds (ie:  course, medium, fine).  Too many parts to disassemble and put in the dishwasher after each use.  Pause to pour feature allows coffee to continue to drip while you've removed the carafe.  I had owned a Melita Grind & Brew for 10+ years and just  thought maybe I should pick up a new machine.  The name Cuisinart and a persuasive salesperson at Williams-Sonoma convinced me to buy this one.  IT IS A PIECE OF CRAP!  Don't buy a grind and… read full review »

This is a wonderful coffee maker. It has a few problems but this is outweighed by its positive attributes. — When we program the coffee maker to come on in the morning, we have sometimes found coffee all other the counter and floor. It seems if the carafe is not exactly right in the coffee maker it will run out the filter and not all the coffee will make it into the carafe. — We have also found that sometimes the coffee grounds get into the pot. We use the permanent filter, so the paper filter folding over is not the issue. We can't figure out why this happens occasionally.… read full review »

I received the Cuisnart Coffee Maker as a house warming gift in 2005.  I love it.  I love being able to grind my beans fresh everytime I'm ready from some coffee ... and I cannot live without it.  I also love the carafe and my coffee staying nice and hot without getting that burned taste.  YUCK! — After having it for several years, it is a pain to clean every time and the inside of the coffee maker gets quite dirty.  I have to give it a good cleaning every couple of weeks.  The grinder has started "acting up" by getting stuck in the machine and I… read full review »

Although I do not have this particular model - I do have a Grind & Brew (10-cup, non-thermal carafe), and I ADORE IT!!!!!!!  You simply put water in the tank, beans in the grinder, turn it on, and come back to the FRESHEST cup of coffee you can get! — Clean-up is a snap; I generally rinse out the grinder and basket parts - with maybe just a little help from my sponge - and set it aside to let the parts air-dry.  I put it into the dishwasher about once per week - top shelf - and it is still working after 4 years! — Okay - it's a tiny bit noisy - but no more so than… read full review »

I thought this was going to be a huge time saver for me, but it turned out to be just the opposite. The cons of this device are numerous and far outweigh the one or two pros. — Cons: — 1. The carafe is difficult to pour, and it's almost impossible to pour out the last few ounces of coffee without turning it completely upside-down. Even, then, you end up pouring everywhere but into the cup. — 2. The grinder is WAY too loud - so loud, in fact, that it can easily wake up a sleeping household. And it runs for a full 30 seconds, which is overkill. — 3.… read full review »

The grind and brew was my favorite kitchen appliance for the first two years that I owned it.  It made the best tasting coffee even from so-called cheap beans.  Unfortunately trying to keep up with the cleaning of this machine is just more time consuming then I'm willing to spend on a coffee maker.  After each use, the machine needs to be completely disassembled and each piece washed and thoroughly dried before making another batch.  Upon trying to change this every-time chore into an every other time chore my machine gunked up after about a year.  I have now owned… read full review »

At first I used this coffee maker to make freshly ground coffee.  The coffee tasted great, but there were always grounds in the bottom of the pot so I couldn't drink the last 1/2 cup in the pot.  I got tired of washing all the parts every day and I don't have a dishwasher, so I have to wash them by hand.  So, I started using it to make coffee without using the grinder.  There are less parts to wash, and sometimes I just take the parts out of the machine and let them dry out in between making coffee.  But, there are still grounds in my coffee, what's the deal with… read full review »

I bought this because I had used my previous landlord's and it worked great. I am kind of a coffee snob, preferring whole bean that I grind myself and coffee that is pretty strong. Being able to wake up to coffee freshly ground AND brewed? Yep, I'm all for that. So, I purchased mine from Amazon.com. Even bought the gold filter inserts (what a pain to clean). — The timer worked, the grinder worked, it brews great, and as long as I make sure that everything is locked in tight before hitting 'brew' everything was aromatic, dude. — Then, one morning it didn't grind the beans. I used… read full review »

We gave this to my parents for Christmas last year. They fell in love with it! My husband is in the military and we don't get to see family often, but we transfered to a base closer to home. Now every chance we get (about once a month) we make the drive to see my parents. I have actually used this coffee maker many times. Its loud! No need for an alarm clock in the morning, this thing will wake the house. However, its not an annoying sound. It wakes you up and says "coffee is on" LOL. it takes some work to clean but the quality of the coffee and the coffee maker are wonderful! I have blown… read full review »
