I've had my Cuisenart Grind & Brew thermal carafe coffee maker (insert Tim Taylor grunts here!) for about 4 years now. It works well enough and since I have a 16 yr old daughter to do the dishes, cleaning is not an issue!
HOWEVER...if I had it to do over I definitely would select another unit. For $200, you would think that it would have some really great features or do something really special. But it doesn't! The grinder is not adjustable (and loud as can be!) and often gets stuck and is hard to remove. This wouldn't be a huge deal except for the fact that it needs to be cleaned everytime you use it, as condensation gets into the grinder basket and makes the coffee remains into a muck! Also, bits of ground coffee seem to build up somewhere between the grinder basket and the filter basket, and when you put the grinder basket back in it knocks "coffee clumps" down. If you don't remember to put the filter basket basket back first, the clumps come down into the carafe or all over the carafe base/holder (and counter top!).
If it hadn't been for the 200 bones I spent on the thing, I probably would've gotten rid of it long ago...but for that money I'm gonna use it until it won't grind anymore...or until my daughter moves out!
