This is a well made can opener with one major fault THE BLACK PLASTIC SPINDLE BEHIND THE LEVER IS A DESIGN FAULT AND CONSTANTLY BREAKS. The USA will replace this part free of charge ,so great customer service .Canada does not and will charge you a total of $20 plus for a replacement . The message is that avoid buying this can opener in Canada as the whole design is let down by a small cheap plastic part .

Yes, you heard me, I am in love with a can opener. In the course of my life, I have tried many. I went from my newlywed years and the Army issue P-38, to the total whack jobs they sell at Walmart, that do many things, none of which include actually completely opening a can. A simple process, or so it would seem, for some makers an impossible feat, but for Cuisnart, an art nearly perfected. This can opener is stylish enough for the modern stainless steel kitchen, is heavy enough to hold it's own against the weightiest of cans, is made of materials made to last, and completes the opening cycle smoothly and for the most part, without incident. It is also simple to remove the cutting unit for cleaning. Now, if they could only keep the cutting unit from occasionally dropping into a freshly opened can impromptu, it would be perfection. This purchase came fresh on the heels of tossing away good money on a Black&Decker nightmare, so my emotions were already hieghtened. Ever hear the phrase, "Quit while you're ahead"? That's what I'm doing. Performance The only thing I see fault with is, the cutting unit being a bit too easy to remove from the base. So much so, that it may, of it's own free will, drop into a freshly opened can. Splat. Durability Well made, stainless steel. Design Attractive and functional design

***This Cuisinart SCO-60 Stainless Steel Electric Freestanding Can Opener*** looks impeccable in our kitchen. It is hard to find can openers this posh! They sell this fashionable model at my husband's appliance store, here in Fort Gratiot MI and Cuisinart has always been a family favorite. I was sold on the idea that it comes with a three year warranty which you don't find often on small appliances. Actually, that is almost unheard of. Some of this model's other fine features include: a removable activation lever for easy cleaning; one-touch operation; power cut blade and stainless steel constructiion. The price is a bit higher in comparison to standard electric can openers but I was willing to pay for the quality. Cuisinart products last longer and are more durable and I loved this model so much that it was worth whatever the cost. Unfortunately the picture here does not do this piece justice...it is stunning! With Mother's Day right around the corner, this would make for a lovely gift! Yes, I recommend very highly! Durability Still using, have had a few years now

I absolutely love my Cuisinart stainless steel can opener. First of all, it matches my other appliances and actually looks good on my counter. Second, its not that big, so I actually want to leave it on my counter. Third, it is so easy to use. It is quiet, I have never had it not work on a can, and it keeps the lid of the can after its done. I always felt like a large can was going to fall out of my last can opener, and I have no worries with this one. It is obviously quicker than a manual one, but I used to use my manual one sometimes because it was just easier, and I don't even know where that one is anymore, I use this for everything and am so pleased with how well it works. Definitely recommend!

The **Cuisinart Deluxe Stainless Steel Can Opener SCO-60 was exactly what I wanted it to be when I first got it, but now, I am not so satisfied with this Cuisinart product. It worked great at first. I used it often and it just sat beautifully on my countertop. Now, although it still looks great on the counter top, it is used much less often because it has stopped working so flawlessly. I have had some problems with the can opener cutting through the entire can's lid. It will skip some areas and even when I get it back around to that area, it will not cut it through. Therefore, I cannot get my cans opened with this opener anymore. I use a hand opener for most of my can opening needs. This opener looks great, but does not last very long with much use at all.** ****

I received the Cuisinart stainless steel can opener as a Christmas gift last year after another one of my can openers quit working. I love it! It fits in nicely with my kitchen because it is stainless steel. This can opener has yet to let me down and I have had it almost a year! The nice thing is you dont have to worry about mounting it on your cabinets since it sets on top of the counter! It opens any size can largeor small very easily, I have had no problems!
