Cuisinart DLC-5 Food Processor Review Summary

Cuisinart DLC-5 Food Processor is "ideal for the casual cook." Reviewers admit going " the cheap route" and going with Black & Decker food processors, but they never seemed to last more than a year or two. Conversely, the Cuisinart Food Processor lasts for years, with reviewers believing it's because "they are built well and do the job." The Cuisinart DLC-5 saves so much time in the kitchen and in addition is "easy cleanup." Reviewers have used their food processors for everything from slicing salami and cheese ultra-thin to purees, salsa, and bread dough. Some food items will not fit in this machine with just one batch, so if you're cooking for a crowd, you might need a larger Cuisinart. In case you're worried about the safety on the Cuisinart DLC-5, it has safety features to prevent you from slicing off your fingers, which is always a nice benefit. It has become reviewers' "favorite kitchen gadget when cooking/prepping" a lot of meals for the week.

Following the demise of my vintage, circa 1980 Cuisinart 11-cup food processor a few years ago I balked at spending the $249 or so that it was going to cost to replace it.

After going the cheap route selecting two Black & Decker food processors that lasted from 1 - 2 years I've come back to Cuisinart...

I had a difficult start with my Cuisinart Food Processor.  Despite reading the instructions, I could not get the processor to turn on.  Thinking it was something with the motor, I exchanged it for a new one.  New machine, same problem.  I let my husband take a look at it and volia, it worked.  I...

I have had mine for years and love it.  They are built well and do the job.  The Cuisinart food processor is a must have for the kitchen.  I have made so many dinners with mine and it has saved me so much time.  Easy clean up.  It saves me so much time when I have a recipe that called for alot of chopping like Chinese dishes.

The Cuisinart DLC-5 Food Processor is one of my favorite kitchen gadgets.

I've used it for salami (ultra-thin!, couldn't cut it that thin with a knife, so it lasts longer), cheese, veggies, purees, salsa's, bread dough...almost anything you can think of in the food department.  I don't like to take a lot of time when I cook, so this has been a great addition to my kitchen.

It has great safety features to prohibit one from accidentally slicing off one's fingers.  These safety features do make it a little difficult to put together if, like me, you try to do things without first reading the instructions....

The Cuisinart DLC-5 Food Processor is probably my favorite kitchen gadget when cooking/prepping a lot of meals for the week.  It slices and shreds wonderfully and quickly, especially for salads and lasagnas.  It makes pastry crust or blends biscuit dough in a snap.   It even makes a very yummy vegan frozen banana ice cream without any other tools!  My only complaint is it is a bit of a pain to clean and dry (though it is diswasher safe--only it takes up a lot of room in there).  Otherwise, it's fantastic!

This little guy works very well.  It has a high powered motor that is capable of chopping up many different foods from dry items to liquid sauces.  The only problem is that you will probably need another larger machine if you are heavy into cooking.  Some food items will not fit in this machine with only one batch.  Makes great salsas and bread crumbs.  Anything that required a quick-chop.  Cleans up easily as well.

I recently purchased the Cuisinart DLC5 food processor at an after X-mas sale.  It was a lower price than other food processors.  We have not have any problems with it yet.  It is easy to use and not too difficult to clean. I would recommend this food processor to anyone, especially people who dont want to pay $200-300.  The only drawback is it isnt as large as some of the food processors, but it will get most jobs done.

I am viewing the item called, Cuisinart DLC-5 Food Processor. i really like this food processor. it work great and come out good. easy to clean too. the problem i don't like is it a little too big to handle when take out. Otherwise i like it. It doesn't make that much of the noise when i use it. So that is the plus of the machine. Other food processor i have used before made really loud noise when turn on.

This is a fantastic addition to any kitchen. I use it for everything. This food procerros cleans up easily, and has great safety features. It will not turn on until all the connections are locked. The blades are sharp enough to chop through anything. This brand speaks for itself when comparing quality for the price.
