I received the Quisinart Mini-Prep as a Christmas gift and didn't really know how I was actually going to use it since it seemed so small. Once I started using it, I can't live without it. It is perfect for make sauces when you don't want to use a blender or a large food processor and make a huge mess. It also works really well for grinding spices, nuts, and coffee beans quickly. It's great for quickly chopping herbs. However, my favorite way to use it is for making small batches of baby food for my daughter. She doesn't eat purees very much anymore, but sometimes I still need to cut her food into smaller pieces for just one meal. The Mini-Prep makes this so easy for these small jobs. Once I'm done, I can just pop everything in the top rack of the dishwasher and don't have to worry about hand-washing everything like I do with the large food processor. For someone who cooks a lot, I feel like this is now a necessary part of my kitchen.
