Pros

drip-free pause & serve function, looks beautiful on the counter, adjustable auto shut-off time, replaceable charcoal water filter, great coffee, adjustable warming plate temperature, easy to fill, gold mesh filter included, easy to use, virtually spill-proof carafe

Once upon a time I had a beautiful blue Kitchenaid coffee make that made wonderful coffee & looked great sitting on my counter. Much to my chagrin I was notified that it was subject to a recall so for safety I packed it up & shipped it off. The replacement they sent me (for free) was a completely different model since my previous one was no longer made. The least of my complaints was that it was white; the biggest was that due to a design flaw in the pause-&-serve feature, it overflowed quite frequently. Imagine my frustration! To their credit Kitchenaid offered to replace it again however it would be with the same exact model. I declined. After much research & many comparisons, I settled on the Cuisinart DCC-1200. It had some great features I hadn't seen on any other coffee makers, like an adjustable temperature for the warming plate (we like our coffee HOT). I ordered it from an online retailer & as soon as we received it we began putting it through its paces. It should suffice to say that I would pay for this one all over again rather than take 10 free ones! There are 3 adults in our household & we all drink coffee; we regularly consume at least one 12-cup pot a day, more on weekends if we're just hanging around. This coffee maker brews & keeps the coffee very hot; you can set the auto-shut off from 1 to 4 hours; it has a small batch setting (1-4 cups) & built-in water filter. My only (very small!) complaint? It doesn't come in blue. But the white with stainless trim looks more than good enough for me!
