Cuisinart Brew Central DCC-1200 Coffee Maker —
Just received my 12 cup Cuisinart Brew Central Programmable Coffeemaker DCC1200 as an exchange for a broken DCC100 Coffee Bar ($19). Very nice touch from an excellent company named Cuisinart.The unit itself is just beautiful with its clean lines & the always white finish (or you can buy black). A wet rag cleans it nicely. The carafe is drip proof, no more hot coffee running on the floor or my feet as Mr Coffee pots did. You also can sneak a cup before the brew cycle is complete.
A charcoal water filter is inserted in the holder after a soak to remove the black. If you have unfiltered water, this makes a great tasting coffee, or just hot water for other drinks. The gold filter holds your ground coffee for brewing, no more paper filters that have the awful taste!!!
Programmable clock for time of day as well as brew time, so you may awake to the lucious smell of morning coffee. It even has 5 beeps when the brew cycle is complete. Then you can also program how long you want the hot plate to be on (1-3 hours). No more burnt coffee at the bottom of the pot or burst pots from overheating.
The gold filter, holder, carafe & lid all go into the dishwasher for a clean up while a damp cloth wipes up the unit & its surroundings quite nicely.
Was at Kaufmann's & saw it for $110 there right next to a grinding type for $5 more. WalMart, Lowes, KMart do not carry this unit, so it is meant for upscale coffee drinkers like us.
