Cuisinart Blender - Smartstick Hand Single-Speed Blender Review

Prior to purchasing the Cuisinart Smartstick, my husband and I had another immersion blender--it lasted several years, but it had definitely seen better days by the time we decided to replace it.  We decided to get the Smartstick to replace it and it was far and away one of the best purchases we've made.  It's much more solid than our last model.  I also love the chopper attachment--when you're just making a little bit of pesto or need to chop some nuts for a recipe, it's so much easier to use the Smartstick's chopper than to lug out the big, clunky food processor.  It performs well, blending and chopping everything quickly and to a uniform consistency.  Immersion blenders are so much more convenient than conventional blenders and food processors--you will be amazed at how much less you use other kitchen appliances after you buy this.

That said, our Smartstick stopped working--our cat knocked it over and the next time I tried to use it, it wasn't working properly and started smoking.  I blame this entirely on the cat, though, and will be going to buy a new Smartstick this weekend because we cannot function without it!
