This coffee maker really keeps the coffee HOT for hours.  Warm up the carafe with very hot water before you make the coffee and it keeps hot for 12 hours or longer. Coffee is very easy to make and tastes wonderful.  The coffeemaker as a whole is very tall.  This might present a problem if you want... read full review »

This is the worse coffee pot I have ever purchased and I have had several of them.  To keep from writing a book I will keep this simple and list everything that is positive and negative about this coffee pot in my opinion.

We bought this machine because it fit our weekday routine. We'd program the machine to brew 12 cups at 6:15 am. My husband and I would each drink two cups for breakfast, then he'd pour the rest into a thermos to take to work.

Our first machine was fine for about 3 months. Then one day, I went into the kitchen to find coffee everywhere! The part that holds the filter was not locked in place, and the coffee was seeping out. I was sure it was my fault (though you'd think there'd be a mechanism that stops the brewing when all the parts were not aligned.)

I love coffee and I love a hot cup of coffee in the morning. That's why I love my new Cuisinart 12-Cup Programmable Thermal Coffeemaker DTC-975 Series. I don't use the programmer yet. I am not comfortable with that and I'll tell you why in a few moments. That may be the negative part of this review. I do set it up each night and then get up in the morning and press the button for the coffee to be made. I can leave the coffee on the counter for hours and it will stay hot in the awesome thermal pot. And the coffee also tastes so fresh. The first thing that attracted me to this Cuisinart Thermal coffee maker was the look -- its simple stainless design is just gorgeous. But I know from experience that most of the time I get lulled into buying something on looks alone I get burned in the long run. Such has not been the case with this coffee maker. I have had it for a while now and it has never given me one bit of trouble. It's programmable (hot coffee ready when you get up!), you can throw the thermal carafe into the dishwahser to keep it pristine and its insulatoin keeps java hot and fresh for quite a long time. I love this coffee pot. I registered for it for my wedding and it is my favorite present that I got. I don't take the time in the morning to make coffee but I get the pot ready at night and when I wake up I smell the delicious blend of my French Market Coffee. Yumm!

 I recommend using the filters even though it tells you to use the reusable one.

I can always count on my Cuisinart Coffeemaker.  I have been using a Cuisinart Coffeemaker for over 6 years.  The coffee always turns out just right.  I will never go back to a glass coffee container again.  The coffee ages right before your eyes.  A thermal carafe is the best way to prepare your coffee.
