Great Microwave - And Then It Wasn't.

3

My husband and I got this microwave as a wedding shower gift - close to six years ago. I was absolutely in love with it, because at the time, it matched my all stainless steel and black kitchen. It has a spacious interior and I really liked the convenient button options. My favorite feature was the one minute button; you just push one button and you get an automatic one minute of cooking time. I thought that was great and fast. Well, maybe this happens to all microwaves, but one night, it just stopped. We were trying to reheat something, and it was plugged in and the inside light was on, but we would try to push the power button and nothing would happen. It seems like it just died. This was roughly a year ago. We had it in storage after our wedding shower for about one year, so we got around 4ish years of use out of this. I'm not sure if that how long microwaves are expected to last, but to me that seemed pretty short. My mom had her microwave for like 25 years, so when mine died after 4, I was pretty unhappy. Overall, it was a great microwave and I really did love it. It is sleek and looks very nice and has a lot of wonderful features, however, when a microwave has such a short lifespan, that kind of makes me not want to purchase this model again.

Looks sharp, works great!

I have to admit that I chose this microwave based on appearance alone. I really like the look of it; it looks high-end for a decent price. I'm not a big microwave cooker-- I primarily use it to reheat leftovers-- but this microwave has been great during the 5+ years that I've owned it. Ease of Cleaning I like that all of the interior pieces can be removed for cleaning. I just put them in the dishwasher. For cleaning the inside of the microwave, I just put a mixture of vinegar/water in a bowl and turn on the microwave for a few minutes. All the "gunk" gets dislodged and it's very easy to wipe down. No weird crevices for food/dirt to collect. Durability I've had this microwave for over five years and it still works as well as when I first got it!

Has Style and Function

4

I own the Cuisinart 1000 Watt Microwave and I am proud to say it has style and function! The sleek exterior of chrome and black looks classy out on the countertop, and the interior performs several functions. My favorite function is actually the defrost function. It can defrost a bowl of frozen berries in seconds, or I can place a huge chunk of meat from the freezer on a plate and it will be ready to use in my dinner recipe within minutes! It heats fast and efficiently with its rotating carousel. The only downside to this machine is the key pad. It's confusing! The quick heat buttons are nice, but if I want to program anything specific I have to pull out the manual to figure out how. Luckily, it comes with a great, user friendly manual to reference! :-) Overall, a good microwave, but not the best.

Great Microwave overall, a few quirks!

We have been using this Cuisinart microwave for about two years now. Overall, we love it. I use it daily for a variety of tasks... warming up leftovers, preparing food, thawing food, etc... I love the nickel & black exterior, it matches well with my other kitchen appliances. I also like the handle because you just pull it, you don't have to push buttons (which is why we bought it, our other microwave broke because of the button). I have noticed either this heats things a little slower, or most of my friends' and family's microwaves heat things really fast, because when visiting other people I overheat food regularly. My other minor complaint is that for setting very specific times (ex. 1:45 or something), it's a little tricky to figure out, since you have to push the "power" button, there isn't a "cook time" type button. Don't know if that makes sense, but that's my only complaint about it. I love it otherwise!

Many Features, But Not Dependable.

We received this microwave for a wedding gift. We had to exchange it twice within a year because it stopped working. Luckily, the store where we registered has a forgiving return policy. We have been using the 3rd unit we purchased for a few years now. It works, but it doesn't work very well. Compared to the microwaves our friends and family own, ours is slow and inconsistent. Food could be boiling hot in one instance, and then cold after warming for the same length of time in another instance. The features are robust and handy - you can cook and add cook time for 30 seconds and 1 minute incriments with the touch of a button - but I'd gladly trade these for a microwave that is fast and consistent. I might also add that this model was not cheap - so for the price, the peformance is quite poor.

Pretty good oven except for a design flaw that needs to be fixed

4

Pretty good oven, but when it comes to durability and design it does have a fatal flaw. The turntable stem is plastic and it melted. Returning it to manufacturer. Settings/Features Would be nice if the kitchen timer would work while using the oven. Durability The turntable shaft (which is plastic) melted. It took 9 months before this happened. It seems that the entire oven is built sturdily, stainless steel and glass - but the main core - the oven turntable shaft is plastic and it melted. Bummer. Don't know if I will replace it.

Cuisinart 1000 Watt 1.0 Cubic Feet Mircrowave Oven Rocks!

5

We were currently in the market for a new microwave. The one we had at the time was a small 700 Watt microwave, that just didn't seem to be getting the job done. While we were out shopping, we came across the Cuisinart 1000 Watt 1.0 Cubic Feet Microwave Oven, and fell in love with the features and the price. One thing we especially love about this microwave is the +30 second feature, which allows you to push it, while your meal is cooking if you think it might need a little longer. We love that this microwave cooks our food quickly, but all the way through as well. The one thing we don't love about this microwave, is that if you are using the kitchen timer on the microwave, you cannot use the microwave to cook something at the same time. Overall, a great microwave for the price!

Good microwave when it works right

2

We got this microwave for our wedding but it hasn't been as good as we had hoped. Now, don't get me wrong. It does microwave things like any microwave does and I do like some of the features such as just one-click time. (click 1 and 1 minute goes or +30 secs for an additional 30 secs or popcorn to auto make popcorn). These features are very nice. What I don't like though is these issues: 1) When we got it the first week we were making some popcorn and then heard a loud crack. The plate inside had cracked in half. When I called in to get it replaced, they initially said I owuld have to send the ENTIRE microwave in and I would have to pay shipping. When I called again, they reluctantly sent me a free one only after I convinced them that I shouldnt have to buy a new plate from using it for one week and only making popcorn. I also am not a huge fan of how to manually time. Anyone visiting cant figure it out. You have to press POWER and then the time (maybe I'm old fashioned, but I would think a TIMED Cook button would be super beneficial). Overall, things microwave correctly and no major issues except the plate cracking. Up to you (may be a fluke plate but not worht the risk personally). I'd recommend buying a cheaper microwave that does the same.

Cuisinart CMW-100 - Good performance, great looks!

4

Our 12 year old microwave finally died and we had to go out and buy a new one. I hate to say I was heavily influenced by styling - but the Cuisinart CMW-100 stainless steel microwave was just...well...attractive! It has a very pleasing presence on the kitchen counter. It's stainless steel inside as well as out, though, which does serve a practical purpose, making it much easier to clean. The stainless steel also doesn't retain any odors - very nice! While I would have liked to get a convection model, it just wasn't in our budget, so I sought out a microwave with good basic features. The Cuisinart's interior is slightly smaller than our old microwave - but for most microwave chefs, I think it is large enough. It might have a little less power than our old model, too - I've noticed that my instant oatmeal takes about 40 seconds longer to cook. Heating seems to be a little more even than our old model, however. It has special bacon settings, which are what sold my husband on this model! Lastly, it has a 3 year warranty from a reputable name in kitchen products. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase.

The Cuisinart CMW100 is stylish and works great

4

The Cuisinart CMW100 looks sleek, sharp and modern.  The preset buttons are a nice feature and very easy to use.  The stainless design is fairly easy to keep clean on the outside, just some fingerprints that wipe clean easily.  Food is heated evenly due to the turntable, but this model is not the most powerful.  Sometimes food has to go back in for a minute or two.  If you intend on doing a lot of cooking, rather than just heating things up you should probably get a more powerful model.  The stainless interior really does cut down on the smells, as advertised.  The only bad thing I have encountered so far is the turntable shaft partially melted.   I only had this microwave for five months and was shocked when I noticed the melted piece.  I don't even cook in the microwave, just heat things up, so it's not really on for longer than five minutes at a time.  However, when I called customer service to request a replacement piece I received it the very next day.
