Crooklyn, set in 1970s Brooklyn, is the semi-autobiographical story of the movie's co-writer/director, Spike Lee. Told from the perspective of his younger sister, it traces the every day life of a family and the neighborhood they live in during one summer in 1970s. The movie does take viewers 'Down South' when Troy, the only daughter of five children, is sent to stay with family who live a very middle class (and boring) lifestyle for a while.
