All about my Cayman Crocs

When my husband first saw them he said, “They are a piece of plastic.” I assured him that they were supposed to be fantastic. I tried on a size 8 because I had read to go larger but the 8 was just too big. I’m a 7 to 7 1/2 so I went with the 7 since they don’t come in half sizes.

They cost me $30.00.

I got the khaki color which is tan. They don’t just come in hot pink, purple, bright yellow or neon green. You can get white, black, red, light blue – at least 17 colors.

Some people think they are ugly. I love the way they look. They have a Birkenstock look.

One aspect they are famous for is the strap. The strap can be worn around my ankle or lifted up so that they are either on my ankle or even higher and that would be against the shoe. Wearing them like that makes them very much like a backless clog. I have some feet problems and need the strap on the back. One effect of my feet problem is that I need shoes with a hard sole. The Crocs' sole doesn’t bend easily. You won’t be feeling as if you are wearing flip-flops. At least I don’t.

I love the inside of the footbed which has raised bumps. Not only does it keep a grip on my foot but these bumps massage my feet a bit. There is enough of a tread on the bottom to be secure on an easy hike. I wouldn’t wear them on a moderate hike.

The Original Crocs, which the Cayman are considered, use pccr, which is a “revolutionary” proprietary (meaning secret) material “ensuring the most comfortable foot experience on the planet.” I’m not sure I’d go that far.

They

~ are made in the USA.
~ are anti microbial (germs)
~ are anti particulate. (Nutrients that can cause explosive growth of algae in the marine environment.) www.inlandaquatics.com/info/glossary.html. It seems - and I’m making an educated guess- that these two have to do with the ability to not grow fungus on the shoes! This also means odor resistance.
~ are non toxic.
~ are hypo allergenic.
~ are designed ergonomically and mold to my feet with an orthotic foot bed (minimizes foot fatigue and discomfort).
~are cool. With the holes and the lightweight of them I find that my feet don’t sweat. I usually wear them barefoot.
~ have non-marking soles
~ are made with croslite™ PCCR material. (Patented Closed Cell Resin)

I have found all the above true. They have stayed clean and are easy to clean and amazingly comfortable. They feel like slippers.

There are two aspects I want to point out.

~When I first put them on a year ago before I bought them I felt my toes against the top of the shoe. In spite of being advertised as have a roomy foot bed thought the foot bed is wide I have find them a bit short. I have to keep my toe nails cut or they will hit the tip of the shoe.

~I have tripped, slipped, gotten stuck – I’m not sure what to call it. I’ll be walking and all of a sudden it is as if the tip of a shoe stuck to the floor. This seems to be a universal complaint of Croc wearers.

Jo’s Viewpoint:

I like them!

I like them too and own a couple of pair of them. I like almost all the Croc styles!
