Cricut —

Cricut Machine

The Cricut Machine is a convenient, easy way to cut letters, words or pictures for scrapbooking, or other crafts.
Before I get into my review, you should know that there are two different types of Cricut Machines available to purchase; Cricut Create (smaller) and Cricut Expression (larger).

The Cricut Machines use small font cartridges that helps you to create whatever font or image it contains.  These cartridges are sold separately from the machines themselves.  For example, you could purchase a cartridge that is a Halloween theme that only has Halloween images and the font may be in a Halloween type style.   There are MANY cartridge packages to choose from.

I have only used the Cricut Create Machine.  Once I got my hands on it, I couldn't let go!

At a recent scrapbooking weekend, a friend of mine brought her new Christmas present - the Cricut Create!  I had no idea how to use it and at first it looked a little intimidating too me.

She plugged it in, put in the font cartridge and we were ready to cut!  The machine was so easy to use. I added the color paper that I wanted to use and  typed in my first words or phrase that I wanted cut out and the machine went to work and within 2 minutes, it was done!  I simply removed the letters and taped them on my scrapbook page!

At that moment, I fell in love with the Cricut!

I had (note: had) a Sizzix machine which when it first came out was all the scrapbooking craze.  I sold it.  It's gone to make room for a Cricut.  I've added it to my Christmas list! :)

The Cricut Create can do lots of other creative projects but I haven't been lucky enough to try them all out yet.

Don't waste your money on Sizzix and all the dies, don't waste your money on scrapbooking letter stickers - put Cricut on your Christmas list and hopefully Santa will deliver!

I just bought one today a Michaels....on sale for $239.99. JoAnns has them on sale for $219.99 but I dont live close enough to make it cost effective to get it there. Besides, Michaels has the cartridges on sale for $49.99, too! Sale ends 10/11/08.

Hmm, why put it on your Christmas list? You'll probably win one from Houseparty.com. LOL

What a handy gizmo. I've been thinking of getting back to designing cards. This would be very helpful. Can it also be used for making stencils? Good review.

Crysta, I have been tempted to buy a Cricut. My favorite hobby is scrapbooking and making greeting cards. I may have to break-down and buy me one. Great Review!!!
