Disappointed and a bit misled.

Overall
Rated 2 out of 5

After reading a ton of information and watching videos about the various Cricut machines I decided to get the Cricut Personal Electronic Cutter.

Right out of the box the set up is simple.  If you use the directions there should be no problem what so ever.  My first cut was easy and after adjusting a few things I found the perfect combination for the paper I was working with.  I loved not having to be connected to a computer to use a machine like this.  Sadly this is where my enthusiasm for the machine ends.

Strike One:

After opening my first cartridge and keyboard overlay I noticed it stated, and I'll quote, "Some characters are very detailed and will cut best with the...

best product

I just want to say how much I love this machine. My husband bought this for me and, although it was a bit pricey, I have gotten a lot of use out of it. I have never been big on scrapbooking, I'm still not, but I have used this for so many more things. I designed my daughter's second birthday cards, I have done tons and I mean tons of decorations for the house from putting vinyl on the wall, the glass on picture frames, wood projects, tile etc. It has saved so much money making decoration (that look store bought) than actually buying them. I would definately recommend buying one of these. They are very easy to use and there are endless possibilites what you can create. The downside to the machine is it is bulky so it's a pain if you want to take it somewhere else to use it. The cricut itself is pricey as well as the cartridges. I have only bought a few cartridges because they are all so pricey and I never see any good sales on them either.

Addicted to Cricut - But not paying an arm and a leg for it!

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I got my Cricut for Christmas in 2007. I have to admit I didn't use it all that much at first. Then Provocraft came out with a TON of exciting, new cartridges. I bought some and now I'm HOOKED!

My favorite cartridge is Storybook. I has everything from princess crowns to birds- even an owl. And it has a TON of swirls and flourishes to fit everynook and cranny of your scrapbook pages, handmade cards, posters, and decor. AND it also comes with a complete font that is to-die-for! I can't wait to buy some vinyl and make some shapes/phrases for my walls. I live in an apartment so I'm thrilled at the idea of decorating my walls without leaving a mark behind.

The reason I bought the Cricut w...

Machine of a Million Uses!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I used to dread pulling out my huge boxes of pictures, but now that I got this Cricut machine I look forward to scrapbooking.  The hardest part of scrapbooking for me was trying to figure out how I can make each page a little unique or special. This task becomes extremely easy with the Cricut machine.

You can have the machine cut out frames, shapes, letters, and just about anything else that your heart desires.  I do have to caution all the ladie out there though.  You WILL get sucked into buying quite a few extra cartridges just because you have to have the Disney themes, or you have to have the animal theme, etc.  The price of these cartridges can cost anywhere be...

Remedial at best

Overall
Rated 2 out of 5

If all you're interested in is cutting 1 word or 1 letter or one shape at a time this is the machine for you. Anything more complicated forget it!!!

Trying to create a simple stencil to etch glasses as party favors. What I thought was simple is a monumental challenge for Cricut & Provo Craft. My design, 3 lines of text, name, number, date. #1 you can not cut anything more than 1 line of text, or 1 image unless you also purchase Design Studio software (another $60) #2. Design Studio is very remedial software. i.e. once you have typed a word you can not go back and edit it, all you can do is move letters side/side or up/down. #3. Once you create your design in Design Studio you can cut ju...

Like it, but wish I would have gotten the Expression!

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

I bough the Cricut Personal craft cutting machine as a Christmas present to myself last year. :-) I love everything crafty and had been wanting one of these for quite some time.  I had also looked into the Expressions machine, but talked myself out of it due to the price.  I wish I would have spent a little more and gotten the one I wanted.  The Personal does do some great things - I've used it to make gift tags at Christmas, birthday party decorations (place cards, happy birthday banner, paper dolls...) but you are very limited on the size.  Not only can you not go bigger than 5" in height, but you also can't go smaller than 1" - which makes gift tags tricky.  Also, the cartridges are expensive!  I recently saw the new Silhouette and think it seems so much better.  You can access different types of fonts and projects without buying cartridges, plus it's supposed to work great for vinyl.  I will still get lots of use out of this but hope to trade up in a couple years!

Cricut Personal cutter is a good starter die cut machine.

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I bought my cricut about 6 months ago for a great sale price. I love the variety of things that I can do with it. I have cut, vinyl, stencils, fabric, paper and cardstock. I did purchase an after market design program that gives me a lot of flexibility in what I am able to cut.

For me the price was reasonable. As I didn't know how much I would use it, it was a great way to try out a die cut machine without spending a lot of money. One of my first projects was cutting a vinyl stencil and etching glass. I then made a decal for my daughter's car for her photography business.

The smaller mat 6" x 12" does mean that you are limited on what you can cut, and there are times I would like to have a...

I don't know how I crafted without it!

Overall

The Provocraft Cricut is the answer for the crafter who wants top quality personalized die cuts that they can cut in their own home.  The Cricut offers more versatility for the crafter than ever available before.  The Cricut can cut many sizes and offers lots of options.  The cartridges are expensive, but contain lots of images.  The ability now with the Cricut Design Studio allows the crafter to design from multiple cartridges on the computer screen and, by clicking a button, tells the Cricut what to cut.  The images can even be welded together.  This machine is so much fun and opens up new worlds in crafting.

The Cricut gives me more time to be creative

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I splurged on the Cricut Die Cut Machine and quickly built up my library of cartridges by finding them cheaper online than in the retail stores. As a craft loving person that loves to personalize things for holidays and gifts, it has been such a joy to simply punch in what I want it to cut out and it does it for me. In the size I want! No more tracing or stencliling shapes and then cutting them out, this machine does it all! They also came out with colored markers that you can put in the machine instead of the blade, which just makes it so much more versatile. I have used it for making invitations, valentines favors, home decor, and gifts, I really have such a blast using it.

terrible product, terrible customer service.

Overall

I went to use my cricut for maybe the 8th time since it was purchased for me as a present and the rotating wheel would not catch the cutting mat. Called the help desk and they said they will have to mail me our a new once, since it is stull under warrenty. The catch? This whole process will take 2 weeks. Are you kidding me? If I had a choice I would return it. I needed to use it today and this weekend, I bought cartridges to use on projects that specifically need to be done this weekend. I can't believe let alone the whole process takes two weeks, but it will take then 2 days to E-MAIL me a return label. What a joke, they are not even sending me a box, which other companies do when something needs to be replaced, and said box is at my door the next morning and I have my new product by the end of the week. Hopefully the one that is replaced won't break after a couple of uses like this one. What a waste of nearly $300. I will never by anything from Provo Craft again.

Did not like it

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

Humm!!! I got mine a week or two ago.. Not to happy with it its hard to get the paper off of the sitcky board!!! IT IS $400 I just don't at all thing that it is worth that much!!!! All it dose it cut!!!! I scrap book  a lot and do little other projects and i do not like it that much!!! We will give it some more time..... Also I'm not that big of a fan of the cartridges they are $60 $70 each that is about $2 per cut out plus paper. If you scrap book you already pay out of the butt for every thing!! So for me so far it is not worth the money i would rather pick out the stickers and other things and pay each time!!! ( I was really exited for the cricut to come out, I have been waiting for a LONG time to get one finally did and now I'm pretty disappointed)          D :

I love it!

Overall

I never in a million years thought I would be able to afford a Cricut until they came out with the "Create".  When I bought mine on sale back in July it was $99.00 at Michael's.  What a steal, except now during holiday sales you can get them as low at 69.00...an incredible deal!

I absolutely love my Cricut.  I never thought I would be afford cartridges, but after doing some research I found many websites that carry them for quite great prices.  I have bought cartridges from $20-$40.  I have never paid more than $40 for any one cartridge and now I have 8 of them!  Pretty good for a girl on a budget!

The "Create" is the perfect size for any scrapbooker.&nb...

MUST have for crafting

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I have had my cricut machine for two years, and I must say it is the best crafting investment I have ever made.  It has rendered obselete dozens of stamp-cutters, stamps, and decorative punches.  I love my machine and use it for everything crafty.  I have made all of our Christmas presents using this machine last year, and they were a hit.

I have the small personal electronic cutter. It cuts images from 1 inch high to 5.5 inches high.  I use it for scrapbooking, card making, (the aforementioned) Christmas gifts, and more.  I have made cutesy room tags for my nieces and nephew and birth announcements for my son.  It has so many possibilities, and I've just scrat...

I absolutely love this machine.

Overall

I have to say that  I am absolutely in love with all Cricut machines and accessories.  They're fun, fast, easy, and make for more lively and interesting results than anything else I have used.  I got one of these machines for my birthday and I can't seem to find an end to my usage of it.  I made both graduation invites and thank you's with it and now I have been using it for every birthday and holiday I can.  Some drawbacks are learning to use it and the way it seems to waste paper even when you try really hard not to.  It does take some getting used to but it doesn't take long.  I do really enjoy the different functions that come with each cartridge and th...

LOVE LOVE LOVE

Overall

Trying to create a scrapbook that was special for my daughter, I decided to invest in a Cricut.  I didn't have the time nor the ability to create what I had seen the Cricut do.  I don't recommend buying it in a craft store, but on ebay because there are reliable ways of buying it cheaper than the craft store cost.  I also get my cartridges there for no more than $30.  I was completely out of my league when I bought it because I had no idea how crafty I would truly become!  I use the Cricut to not only create scrapbook pages, but also, to create cards, tags, and school projects.  It is very easy to learn to use, and once I began to feel more confident in my skill I began to use it more easily and more quickly.  There are so many professional looks that can be cut out using the cricuts.  Also, I invested in the markers, which can draw the item instead of cutting it out, or it can outline the item before cutting.
