I've had this Vision:M player for a little over a year now and it has been great.  Before this player, I had a creative labs 512kb player and was looking for an upgrade.  After some research and some hands-on experience with iPod, I wanted one that had a higher rating.

I bought a Creative Zen Vision M a couple years back. At first I was very pleased with it. It was easy to use, load songs and pictures onto. Then a few months back, it decided to stop working. The 30GB Zen Vision M's (ZVM) main competitor is the Apple iPod 30 GB. Here is why it is better than the iPod.
1. The ZVM's screen is larger.
2. The ZVM displays almost 300,000 colors, while the iPod only displays 80,000.
3. The ZVM has an FM radio.
4,. The ZVM has a microphone that allows you to record audio from the FM radio or from other external sources.
5. It can play many more types of media than the IPod.

The ZVM does not play games like the iPod, but I don't play video games so I don't miss that.
Also, the iPod allows people to customize their settings far more than the ZVM.

This is one of the best MP3 players on the market, it can use so many more video and audio formats than the Ipod or Zune, it is compadible with most formats.  It is easy to use and very reliable, I have only had it freeze up on me once in a year.  It has a a lot of space for a pretty good price.

I bought the Creative Zen 30Gig because it holds all my music, my favorite movies, and all of my favorite photos.  I found it very easy to use from the start which is important to me.  I have owned my Zen for about 8 months and never had any problems with it, so am not sure about the customer service since I haven't needed it.  I love my Zen.  The picture quality is much better than I expected from a handheld device that is primarily for music use.  Same for movie quality.  I had no skips in the movie and it ran perfectly.  Sound quality is great but I didn't care for the earbuds and bought... review »

While I love electronic gadgets of every type, I was not quick to jump on the mp3 bandwagon, as the ability to store 10,000 songs is not at the top of my list.  I didn't want to go with an iPod, as everyone in the world seems to have one and I think Bill Gates wants to be emperor of the universe.  A friend recommended the Creative Zen Vision M and I had a chance to see what his was like.  Then I got an offer from Buy.com, in conjunction with Audible.com, to save $100...who could pass that up.  With that deal, I have discovered the joy of audio books and I use this thing constantly.  I am a... review »

Gives Ipod a run for its money!

I've had my Zen for about a year know and am still happy with the product. Sure, it is heavier than an Ipod but the features make it worth it. I can a lot of songs on it and it supports many type of music files.

One thing that I like is that is has a radio. True, with all of the music in the library I may not need a radio too often but it is a nice feature to have. It also comes with a recorder.

I do wish that it had more accessories available like the Ipod. Amazon.com has a good selection and I bought most of my accessories off of there. Please consider the extra costs when buying one of these-... review »

I bought the Creative Zen M about a year ago.  I had read a lot of reviews and decided to go for this product instead of an Ipod. 

For the most part I am pleased with the Creative Zen M.  It has a lot of storage and is simple to use.  The included software makes it mostly dummy-proof.

The two problems I've had: 1. The manufacturer claims the battery life is up to 18 hours...it will never make it that long! I absolutely love my creative zen!! When I first wanted to buy an mp3 player i deliberated over whether i wanted an ipod or some other brand.  Two features really helped push me towards the zen, a decision i have never regretted.  The first feature that drew me to it is that unlike an ipod, it does not have a set life on it.  ipods are notoriously known to be made to last around 3 years before they break.  I have had my zen for about 5 years and it is still in perfect condition and i use it all the time.  i have never had any issues with it or needed to take it to the store for any reason. ... review »

Pros: I don't have any regrets about buying this product.  I got it on sale for a great deal and it was worth every penny.  It has an FM tuner with preset stations you can program.  There is also a microphone on it.  I use it to record my professor's lectures in my classes, it works better than my digital voice recorder.  I have movies, photos, audio books, and thousands of songs on my ZEN M.  I'm happy with the sound quality and picture quality. Cons:  it's heavier than it's ipod equivalent.  The touchpad and keys take some getting used to.  The screen would be better if you were able... review »

I have to admit I have not spent a huge amount of time figuring out the specifics of my new Zen, but it was farily easy to get it synced to my computer and get my music on there - which was the most important thing for a daily train commuter like myself.  There is tons of storage - I can probably get my whole collection on here (where i get around to it).  The display is customizable and i love my bamboo theme.  Also, getting pictures stored on the Zen is easy.  The only problem so far has been trying to get my beloved Red Dwarf Divx files playing on it, but this may be because i'm not terribly... review »

Zen VIsion M is GREAT! It has all the space you need for Media (Data,Music,Video, Pictures)! Easy to use with computer! Long lasting rechargable battery! Overall a great value for the money. I don't know why you'd waste money of an IPod when you can get comparable storage and technology for half the price.  The only real drawbacks are that There is a definite lack of accessories like cases and chargers unless you hunt them down online and the charger adaptor is not at all universal.
I love being able to have my music wherever I go and having a couple of my favorite movies in case of unexpected long delays when I'm caught without a book or my DS.
I did have one suddenly lock up entirely on me, but I had the replacement plan from Best Buy and they... review »

I really love my Creative Zen. It's really easy to use, I had no problems downloading music or using it with various services. The only downside is that it's really hard to find video content most of the stuff out there is for ipod users. So if you are buying this for video use I would say go with another player. It does have some other cool features you can use it as a USB drive, can listen and record radio, you can make your own recordings, it has an organizer with a calendar and an alarm. So I would recomend for a cool bargan with lots of memory it's a pretty cool player.

I LOVE THIS PLAYER!!!!  I can download movies, music and more!!!!  I download the ZENCast and watch them from work!  It can be a little difficult to get started but the Tech Support is GREAT!!!! Since it is a hard-drive base palyer I would recommend calling Creative and getting the extended warrenty!  DON'T BUY THE STORE WARRENTY!!!! They usually start after the 1 year warrenty and if something happend and you do need to send it in after 90 day you have to pay....If you have the Creative warrenty you are covered for 2 YEARS!!!! FREE TECH SUPPORT TOO!!!!!
