My friend has had one with a hard dive for several years now and nver had a problem. So, since they were less expensive than the Apple line I made the dive and bought one. The main difference was mine use flash memory not an internal drive. With 64gb and and expansion slot I could hold a to of music and video no problem at all. That was very true as I hardly put a dent in the space that was available the 6 months I usd it. I absolutely loved the FM radio to listen to my favorite morning shows at work. Navigating your collection is not nearly as slick as Apple but it does the job. Where the unit falls short is how it constantly locks up. You have to be very carful using the unit as the slightes wrong move will lock it. Then you need to go through a sequence to reset the unit. After living with this problem for several months the unit finally locked up permanently. It was 7 months old and would cost me $200 to fix the unit. A brand new unit was not that much more so I ended up throwing it out and going with the Ipod Touch. I owned that for a year now and it never locked up once.
