Crayola Tadoodles Crayon Buddies Reviews

These are simply awful.  My girlfriend gave them to me when her two-year-old just used them to mark on herself and had graduated to crayons.  My kids (almost 3 and almost 1 1/2 yrs old) also use crayons but my son LOVED the new singing colorful noises on the tadoodle packaging (which I found annoying) and I thought they might be helpful for my daughter (15 mos) who likes to eat crayons instead of color with them.  Boy, was I wrong!  While my son (almost 3) did love them, they made a HUGE mess and were very hard to clean up.  I think I'll likely let him play with them again... but outside...

I thought that the Crayola Tadoodles crayons were an okay product.  They are available in lots of pretty colors, which is a plus when you are dealing with picky kids.  However, I think it is not so great that you can't use the entire crayon, my daughter can only color a few pictures before we have to take out the crayon inside, and replace it with a new one.  The crayons also tend to fall out when you are using them, which is frustrating, espceially when you consider how much more expensive Crayola TaDoodles are in comparison to normal crayons.  They are, however, easier to hold and color...

My oldest girl, now twenty seven months old, was given these for her second birthday.  At first they seemed like a wonderful idea.  But we used them once and they proved to be nothing more than a pain.  She could not comfortably hold them in her hand, and had little control over the "tadoodle".  Her coloring was messy, which frustrated her.  Not only that, but they were just plain messy.  She had a better time with a cheap package of regular or fat crayons and blank paper.

When my third child celebrated her second birthday, a friend gave her the Crayola Tadooles as a gift. Before then, I had not seen them. Everyone, including me, thought they were so cute and colorful.

The Crayola Tadoodles are so much fun and are a great way to bring out the creativity in your little one.  I have a three year old who wanted to color as soon as he was able to hold things, he has a big brother that he still watches and mimics almost dailiy.  It is great but he could would make a huge mess with crayons, markers and pens.  My mother in law found the Crayola Tadoodles and asked me what I thought about them, I told her that they sounded great and I had no objections.  She gave them to him for his second Christmas, he was about eighteen months old.  He loved them and played with...

Tadoodles are a total waste of money. They are supposed to be geared toward small children who also have small hands, yet the bases are huge and were very hard for my young son to hold.  The crayons also kept falling out of the unit, which kind of defeated the purpose of having them contained (if I weren't watching him, he could have easily grabbed hold of the fallen crayons and done the same destruction on my walls that I was trying to avoid by buying these in the first place!)  My son used them only a few times before I gave up and tossed them, opting for a normal, fat crayon instead, which...

My daughter recieved several of these for her birthday.  I was excited about them, but that quickly went away as soon as we opened the box.  She tried to color with them, but the crayons kept falling out.  The instructions on the box on how to keep the crayon in don't make any sense at all.  I finally just pushed the crayon in as hard as I could.  They stayed in for a little while, but eventually fell out again.  We have two more boxes of these that we haven't even opened yet.  She got frustrated with them and finally threw them on the floor.  She loves the little faces and will play with...

I bought the Tadoodles Christmas 2007 when they were new because I thought they were so cute, as a present for my then 1 year old son.  He had no problem holding the animal crayon holders-  the problem was that the crayons would not stay in them!  Every time he turned them over to put crayon to paper it would immediately fall out.  I thought maybe they weren't in right so I took crayons out and put them back in again, then tried myself.  Same problem.

My 17 month old got these as a gift from grandma. This was probably the worst gift to give someone under the age of 2. They are useless and frustrating line Crayola has created. First of all, washable crayons for 18mos olds is a stupid idea. Of course they have to taste them and the crayon instantly dissolves into a watery mess. GROSS. Second, these big balls are not easier for little hands to hold. They are not easy for an adult to hold so how would a child have an easier time. I purchased the Crayola Tadoodles based on the age recommendation listed on the package (beginning at 18 months of age) when my daughter was 18 months. The Crayola Tadoodles seemed to be the prefect shape for my daughter to grasp, however, when I got home I found out a different story. I like the idea of the Crayola Taboodles.  It's a super cute design, great for little hands to grab.  But, my son is 2 years old, and he never picks one up to color.  He always picks up a chubby crayon or a regular crayon.  In the long run, I don't see the necessity of a Taboodle.  There is nothing wrong with your children using regular size crayons.  He also has the markers, and I don't recommend those AT ALL.  They are too hard to use.  They aren't user friendly for little ones at all.  I recommend regular markers and regular crayons.
