From its earliest beginnings, Crayola has been a color company....
These are simply awful. My girlfriend gave them to me when her two-year-old just used them to mark on herself and had graduated to crayons. My kids (almost 3 and almost 1 1/2 yrs old) also use crayons but my son LOVED the new singing colorful noises on the tadoodle packaging (which I found annoying) and I thought they might be helpful for my daughter (15 mos) who likes to eat crayons instead of color with them. Boy, was I wrong! While my son (almost 3) did love them, they made a HUGE mess and were very hard to clean up. I think I'll likely let him play with them again... but outside...
review »My son who is two received the Crayola TaDoodles for Christmas last year (08). I had seen the product on store shelves but my then 18 month old was well versed with markers, finger paints, paint brush and paint, crayons, colored pencils, ink pens, etc.
So when I introduced him to the Crayola TaDoodles markers, he ALWAYS wanted to grab them from the top. Then he would become frustrated that the Tadoodle wouldn't color. Then his hand would be full of markers. The best thing about Tadoodle's is the fact that they are easily washable and I had no problems washing the markers off his hand.
I thought that the Crayola Tadoodles crayons were an okay product. They are available in lots of pretty colors, which is a plus when you are dealing with picky kids. However, I think it is not so great that you can't use the entire crayon, my daughter can only color a few pictures before we have to take out the crayon inside, and replace it with a new one. The crayons also tend to fall out when you are using them, which is frustrating, espceially when you consider how much more expensive Crayola TaDoodles are in comparison to normal crayons. They are, however, easier to hold and color...
review »My oldest girl, now twenty seven months old, was given these for her second birthday. At first they seemed like a wonderful idea. But we used them once and they proved to be nothing more than a pain. She could not comfortably hold them in her hand, and had little control over the "tadoodle". Her coloring was messy, which frustrated her. Not only that, but they were just plain messy. She had a better time with a cheap package of regular or fat crayons and blank paper.
The marker "tadoodles" dried out quickly, and for the price you only get three color options. My daughters prefer...
review »My little ones thought it would be great to color with these! These crayons come in three primary colors. My boys played with these crayons for about three baths. Initially they were a lot of entertainment. They colored all over the bath tub and then some. The problem is, how many kids clean up after themselves? Not only do you clean your kids, but now you have to clean the bathtub. They can be messy, and the last thing a mom needs to do at the end of a hard day is clean up another mess. They crayons were also hard for my youngest to hold. My older son who is now 4 did okay. ...
review »When my third child celebrated her second birthday, a friend gave her the Crayola Tadooles as a gift. Before then, I had not seen them. Everyone, including me, thought they were so cute and colorful.
After the birthday party we unpackedaged all my daughter's gifts. She wanted to use the new Crayola Tadooles so I grabbed a sheet of paper to let her try. Because she was in the scribbling stage, she was quickly scribbling all over the page. It seemed that the shape of the tadooles was so fat that it was difficult for her tiny hands to hold. She could not see what the tadoodles was writing without...
review »The Crayola Tadoodles are so much fun and are a great way to bring out the creativity in your little one. I have a three year old who wanted to color as soon as he was able to hold things, he has a big brother that he still watches and mimics almost dailiy. It is great but he could would make a huge mess with crayons, markers and pens. My mother in law found the Crayola Tadoodles and asked me what I thought about them, I told her that they sounded great and I had no objections. She gave them to him for his second Christmas, he was about eighteen months old. He loved them and played with...
review »Tadoodles are a total waste of money. They are supposed to be geared toward small children who also have small hands, yet the bases are huge and were very hard for my young son to hold. The crayons also kept falling out of the unit, which kind of defeated the purpose of having them contained (if I weren't watching him, he could have easily grabbed hold of the fallen crayons and done the same destruction on my walls that I was trying to avoid by buying these in the first place!) My son used them only a few times before I gave up and tossed them, opting for a normal, fat crayon instead, which...
review »My daughter recieved several of these for her birthday. I was excited about them, but that quickly went away as soon as we opened the box. She tried to color with them, but the crayons kept falling out. The instructions on the box on how to keep the crayon in don't make any sense at all. I finally just pushed the crayon in as hard as I could. They stayed in for a little while, but eventually fell out again. We have two more boxes of these that we haven't even opened yet. She got frustrated with them and finally threw them on the floor. She loves the little faces and will play with...
