This product can be difficult to clean, but if you clean it while it is still warm, it is fairly easy.
As a mother of 7 and 14 year old girls, my kids love this item & enjoy making their own multi-colored crayons.
My kids have used crayons other than "Crayola" the still work, just not as well. It is recommended that only crayola be used. If you have younger kids, they would enjoy making their own crafty colorful crayons with mom or dad's ever watchful supervision.
Spend some time with your children, be creative, and enjoy them while they are young. They will be grown up before you know it :)
