Months ago my husband and I put together the ladder book cases our daughter and son-in-law got from Crate & Barrell as wedding presents.
To the Point
The three leaning bookcases look great in their apartment and I’m sure will look even better in the condo they’re moving to.
A Closer View
They were not difficult to put together so you can breathe easy. Each one costs $129 and slants against the wall. One thing we noticed as we were packing and moving them is the marks they left on the wall. My daughter will put something behind the top part of the ladder so that won’t happen in their condo.
Another negative is the safety factor. You don’t want these in a house with young children!
They are made of solid wood with an ebony stain and have a lacquer top coat. They each measure 25.5" wide by14" deep by 76" high.
The 14” measurement is the deepest and is at the bottom. The top shelf is close to 4” deep. The way this works is that the shelves as they get deeper stick out in the back more than the narrower ones making this ladder lean. The shelves have a lip at the back to prevent things from falling behind.
There are five shelves per ladder. The shelves are sturdy. They held a lot of books – heavy books - among other items with no fear of them falling.
