Most HelpfulI can't tell you when I first came across Craigslist.com, I can only state that I am darn glad I did. Like a lot of the Internet revolution, the Craigslist.com website was started by a person who saw a not being met by the "big guys" and filled it with something simple and easy to us and maintain. ...

Most HelpfulI have used the internet to conduct hundreds of personal and business transactions and I have used most of the well- known retail web sites at least once. When I already know what I want and insist on something new, I generally turn to the retail store web sites where only new merchandise is offered....
review »Dear Craig,
Your catchy little web site name is a good one. I am in awe that you've yet to cash in on your huge network of community web sites. People across the United States are using the Craigslist in their city to find childcare, classes, mates, jobs, housing, gigs, forums and more. I use it myself, and quite often, with great success. The traffic to all your sites combined must be amazing and huge.
However, while you have succeeded, 100%, in creating ultra-opular community web sites for cities across the U.S., I fail to understand your unbending attitude about offering a universal...
I love this website - I have gotten so many great things from ads I've found on craigslist. My best find was a free Lazy Boy couch that was in great shape, and only a couple of miles away! Other finds have included a mattress set and a cell phone.
Another great thing about the web site is being able to post free ads for stuff you don't want anymore - I have sold a blender, a rug, and my car!
I think the most important thing this site does is allow users to flag ads for removal. This keeps spammers away very effectively.
We have sold furniture, bought furniture, sold all kinds of household items and bought all kinds as well - We are hopelessly addicted to Craigslist. No Fees - all local - no bidding - SO much better than eBay, now that it's become SO pricey to buy anything on there. Only thing I don't like is that many users neglect to remove their listing once an item is sold. But, if you have a little patience, you can find what you are looking for and for a great price. Be sure to use common sense - if someone seems sketchy, don't do business with them. I've found that I am more comfortable meeting people at...
review »The local newspaper outlet here - Mid Iowa Newspapers allows people to place five classified ads in their paper for free each month. On the few occasions I have wanted to sell something in the classifieds, I went to them for the free ads. Those are in print and on the web.
Then I found someone's cat. He was obviously an expensive Siamese cat. I made flyers and stuff (and put an ad in Mid Iowa), and I decided to also put an ad on craigslist.org to get the most exposure. It was one sentence, about nine words. I used the anonymous email address thing, and it has the "It is NOT OK to contact this poster.......
review »I have been doing some dealing on Craig's List in my local area and am finding it to have mixed results. The first couple of items I put on the list were not even responded to. After that, I put a few more things on and had people who wanted to meet me halfway, or 30 miles from my home. One person came to buy our trash compactor and drove more than an hour through traffic to get here, then paid the asking price. I knew there were people out there like me who would go to the seller's home instead of asking to meet me. After all, my town is listed in the ad.
We were doing some landscaping...
review »Craigslist (san antonio) is nothing but a waste of time because of the flaggers. I try posting ads trying to rescueunwanted small critters like rabbits and guinea pigs and I kept getting flagged and my ad would get deleted. I'm trying to help people and animals and rude people have my ad deleted. I've also seen many complaints posted as ads of many people who want to help pets and are disgusted and annoyed with people flagging their ads as well.Today I read this one complaint from this one user who was trying to re-home a bull mastiff she tryed to rescue. Here's the ad posted by her neighbor keep...
review »I first heard about Craigslist in a parody on an online humor site, and decided to check out the real site. Sometimes when something is worthy of being poked fun at, it's worthy of looking into. Turns out Craigslist isn't worthy of being noticed at all in my area, a middle-sized town in Arkansas. Maybe if you live in a big city where there are lots of people posting Craigslist could be fun and valueable. Afterall, the concept is cool. It's a free site where people can sell things, buy things, give things away, post jobs, look for room mates, look for dates, just about anything you...
