Dear Craig,
Your catchy little web site name is a good one. I am in awe that you've yet to cash in on your huge network of community web sites. People across the United States are using the Craigslist in their city to find childcare, classes, mates, jobs, housing, gigs, forums and more. I use it myself, and quite often, with great success. The traffic to all your sites combined must be amazing and huge.
However, while you have succeeded, 100%, in creating ultra-opular community web sites for cities across the U.S., I fail to understand your unbending attitude about offering a universal search function for ALL the craigslist sites at once. I Googled and found one fellow had actually created this function, and put it online, and was told by Craigslist in no uncertain terms to take it down or suffer the consequences.
You realize, I'm sure, that there are millions of people who like to do universal searches for things that are for sale, or for freelance jobs, or cottages in the woods, or whatever. Yet you steadfastly refuse to let us because your stated mission of keeping Craigslist a community-oriented place would not be compromised. I just can't buy that answer. So why, Craig, why? I don't have time to go to San Francisco and Atlanta and Miami and St. Louis.....! I want a full-access pass!
Sincerely,
A loyal but frustrated Craigslist user
The Bottom Line: Libby Likes It ..... but is frustrated!
