power washers. i have a 2800psi unit powered by a honda 6.5 hp gasoline engine. it has served me well but i recently learned a valuable lesson. although listed in the original manual under maintaince it is not clearly flagged. after ea use you are suppose to ad rv antifreeze to the water port untill it comes out the pressure side nozzel. it lubricates the valves and also prevents the valves from freezing. up untill last yr i stored the unit in a heated garage. last winter it was stored in my new shed without thinking of the freezing aspects. well this year i powered it up and did my deck and everything worked fine. the next time i went to use it to powerwash my driveway for seal coating i had no pressure. after putting it in for service i had to replace the water pump due to the valves freezing and breaking. cost for the repair was 287.00. every time you use a pressure washer its necessary to keep the valves lubricated with rv antifreeze. i used my unit for four yrs without doing this but is the reason for the recent needed repair.
