Tons of storage for tools
My husband had been wanting a Craftsman tool storage unit for a few years, so last Christmas we decided to buy a three piece set. This is the largest of the three pieces. This cabinet came assembled, but we needed to put the drawers in, which was quite easy. The gliding mechanism was a bit tricky though, but man oh man do these drawers glide in and out smoothly. The steel chest offers a total of 8,202 cubic inches of storage space. There are four drawers, and the bottom two are very deep - perfect for larger tools such as saws, drills, and tool cases. We also have some heavy duty extension cords stored there. There are four wheels, which also needed to be attached. These wheels have a locking mechanism so the chest will not roll when it is in place. When we need to move it, the wheels are up to the task and the chest moves easily across our cement garage floor. Like the other two units, this one also has a locking mechanism to secure our tools if we need to. Each drawer can hold 75 pounds of weight, which is great, but I installed a rubber mat, cut to fit, in the bottom of each drawer to protect them from scratches, and to cut down on any rattling sounds when I move tools around looking for something. We both love this cabinet.
